I don't participate too much on the GTAM forum but I am a rider living in the GTA.
Just want to drop by and say HI.
I really miss my FZ6 these days. What year/model do you guys have, mine is a blue 2008 model.
My friend and I rode to the Finger Lakes (NY State) on the thanksgiving weekend, the roads are so nice and clean. There are many nice twisties around the area. It's about 4.5 hours away, definitely worth a trip
Maybe it's tuned for fuel economy with less hp, notice that smaller tank.
I don't understand why they would go back to steel frame.
The only think I like about the new FZ6R is the available pearl white color, I think it would look fantastic.....
The FZ6R has narrower rear tire (160 vs. 180) and lower seat height, so I think Yamaha is targeting to the beginner market (e.g. Suzuki GSX650F).
I am glad the FZ6 has no change from the 2008, other than a higher price....
Welcome to the forum, I live in Toronto and have owned my FZ6 for about 3 months now, nothing but praise.
I had about three road trips (300-400 km each way) and I found this bike is very very comfortable on long trips....
It is definitely worthwhile to import from US after learninig from Zack's story and numerous emails asking Zack all questions.
My story was a lot easier than Zack. Back in June, I left home at 8AM driving a van to buffalo, it was only 3pm when my bike reached home (including paying GST/US...
Yes, but only for a few days.
The black frame just grows on me.... I am loving it... plus the new rims is lighter than the silver one as well, check out the spec sheet of the pre-2006 model... the weight difference is like 30+ pounds.
I would take the BMW F800S or VFR.
The FZ really has a great balance between comfort or performance, I would definitely miss my FZ.
If you park beside a R6 or GSX-R, you chances of being targeted for thief is almost down to ZERO. This is why I love to hang out with my R6 friends. :cheer:
You won't be disappointed with the FZ6, I got a brand new 2008 model about one months ago, this bike is extremely comfortable, very fast and very stable on the open road. You can also feel the quality Yamaha has put into the FZ6.
Also, folks in this forum are very nice and helpful...
Can somoeone point me to the right thread on "how to do an oil change" with pics? I have been searching for a while but I couldn't find the thread.
Many thanks.:Sport:
