Damping isn’t weight dependent, it is rate dependent.

Fuel pump died and hasn't run right since!

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your troubles. The first thing I would do is replace the used fuel rail and injectors with your original ones. You have complicated this issue by throwing (used) parts at the problem. While I agree the fuel rail could have had some FOD, it can also be...

    FS: Wilbers 640 Rear Shock

Why couldn’t you simply take the existing spring on your bike and install that on to the Wilber? The shock doesn’t know whose spring you are using All it takes is a spring compression tool, which can be rented from a local auto parts store.

Fork seals are easy, if you have access to a vice. I could see it being a struggle without.

Can’t find first? Am I in neutral ?

Ok, we are getting somewhere. Motorcycles are ALWAYS hard to shift between gears when the engine isn’t running. If you want to do some “cold engagement” then simply rock the rear tire back and forth as you try to engage the next gear. You may need to check if the shift linkage is bent. You can...

Can’t find first? Am I in neutral ?

Welcome to the forum and thank you for the detailed first post. Is the problem that the engine shuts off when the bike is put into first gear, that bike won’t stay in first gear or you can’t engage first gear? All three seem to be mentioned in your post. If the bike shuts down, I would...

Mutineer How’s your tool kit? I’m going to make some recommendations that could make the difference between a good experience and “I’m never doing this again “. - Don’t use 12-point sockets…ever. 12-pt sockets don’t fully engage the nut/bolt and will round-off the head. Take those out of your...

In my opinion, the greatest value this FZ6 sites offers, is the assistance to those that want to make the leap into maintaining their own machine. Doing your own maintenance is not only financially rewarding, but personally. If you want to jump in and learn, this is your chance. Just ask

    New Jersey Earthquake

The epicenter of that earthquake was just 8 miles from my home. It sounded like a freight train and it rattled the house pretty good. I'd say it lasted somewhere between 20-30 seconds. I was on a zoom call at the time and my co-worker 80 miles away on Long Island felt it as well. A 4.8 mag...

    Pops and bags misfire 4000-6000rpm

The fuel pump should not drop below12vdc while priming. Get you battery load tested…it sounds like it may have had a premature death.

    04 FZ6 No Crank

You need to a continuity test to identify failed wires. Looking at the ends of the connector doesn’t tell you what’s happening between them.

    04 FZ6 No Crank

Corroded connectors is the first thing to check. Blown fuses means there IS a problem that needs to be investigated.

New way to start a fz6

Check your work. You may have the hot wire unswitched to the ECU (blue/black & white/blue) or it's just the wrong switch. .

Need Help 04-06 Starter not spinning when mounted.

Another check… Put the bike into the center stand and then place it into 6th gear. With some moderate force you should be able to rotate the wheel. If the wheel won’t move, you may have a stuck engine. Has this bike been outside all winter?
