You're going to pay roughly the same either way. It's a far less daunting process than it seems if you take it slow.
If you've got a mechanically inclined buddy, they're a good addition to the DIY routine.
Quick question for those who've hopefully done this before: I'm trying to grab a lower displacement and/or slower track bike for next year - and keep it on the cheap side. For what will be my first year of consistent track riding, I'd like to get something slower so that my corner entry and...
Right on!
Getting married or buying a motorcycle is a funny dilemma. Tell him to buy it off you with the dowry or something, and that he won't regret it!
Best of luck with the sale.
Hoooooo buddy...
Buying a track bike this winter for absolute sure. Got a small lead on a track ready model exactly like mine, for $4000, and hoping it pulls through.
Heya, folks! Some of you may be out of the loop on my even more recent bike purchase; the CBR600F4i that I'd owned previously was a lemon, so I sold it at a loss and purchased a 2009 Triumph Daytona 675. It's been a lovely bike, with tons of character and absolute smoothness. Uniquely, the ECU...
They're fairly new on the market, and relatively cheap. You're not going to get the quality of the more expensive exhaust options, but you will get a nice loud sound and less exhaust restriction.
It's like a budget exhaust, and a bit more fancy than a straight pipe. Personally, I find them...
For easy going riding, sitting with an inch or so between your balls and the tank is preferable and generally more comfortable. My knees used to often touch a bit of the frame too, depending on how I sat - seems to be the way it goes.
Pillion in this case should be holding onto the rails...
My fizzer with TB pipes used to sound just like that. My buddy, with the same, idles perfectly fine. Covering one of the pipes fixed it much the same. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me, aside from turning my TB screws in slightly to richen the mix - which helped marginally.
Your...
Unfortunately, you're a ways out from my neck of the woods (Greater Toronto Area) - or I'd suggest the Warsaw Caves, and possibly the Screaming Heads.
Maybe somebody on here who lives more North East from myself could help you more. The two spots I mentioned are close to 10-12 hours away from...
I've got a set of foot pegs I'm pretty sure - stock, grey metal and black rubber which I've been trying to sell as a pair in my parts thread. Would you be interested in buying them?
I feel like cash in hand, a lot of people would be willing to let you try out their rides (enough to say, cover any damage if you scuff the bike up). People here are very helpful sometimes... Comon boys - any takers?
Being the new owner of a Daytona 675, you've every reason to be in love. Incredible engine characteristics, eh?!
(Although, you definitely had more displacement than I do having rode that particular bike)
I'd take it to a shop and have them lower it by an inch across the board most likely. Straight forward and effective from what I've seen - a friend of mine got it done and he loves it now.
