Okay, so I got my trickle charger in yesterday and charge the battery over night. I just hooked it back up. It start fine. The voltage was 12.9 before start. After start it jumped to 13.6. Slowly started to climb to 13.9 as it warmed up. I revved it to 5000 rpm and the voltage dropped to 13.5...
Okay, thank you! The battery is 1 year old.
Yes, the terminals are clean and tight. There was some corrosion previously(posts from last week) on the negative terminal, but it has been completely cleaned off.
I didn't check the output of the charge system. I figured once I got it running, the...
I took it out for a ride last night and it went splendid for the first half. I arrived at a park after an hour of riding. I shut it down and sat for probably 20mins. When I went to crank, it had a lack of power. The light was flickering, the starter was attempting but no luck. I ended up push...
Okay so I feel stupid for not even trying to jump the thing, but I put a portable jumper to the battery and it cranked!! I got thrown off by the 12 error and the starter motor not even engaging/starting(additionally, its only 2 years old). So it runs now. I presume I have a parasitic draw or the...
Hello!! You recently helped me with a fuel pump issue on my FZ6 and I am back again for more! I greatly appreciate how active and helpful you and Finalimpact are on this forum! I am sure you have relieved so much of people's stress-inducing issues lol. So my bike has been running great, I keep...
She's alive!!!(peep the smoke coming out of the exhaust:)) I think it was a combination of a dirty rail/gunk in the injectors and possibly a fuel pump assembled slightly wrong. There is an o-ring in there that can be easy to missed. It stays in the wrong place when you take the pump apart. Thank...
Awesome! I got the fuel pump assembly taken apart and It all seemed legit(clean etc.). There is a possible o-ring that I put on the opposite side(possibly the solution for pressure). Additionally I got the rail off with an impact screw driver(thanks for that tip!) and it looked to be some debris...
Yeah i have done some research on removing rust from the tank.
So I pumped out the tank after work and the gas was clear(regular)... I took the tank off and will take out the pump.
Yeah my filter looked similar to this. I drained it with a hand pump and wiped the bottom with a rag to get any paint chips out. There is some surface rust scattered in the tank but it isnt 100% covered in it. Thank you for additional info on the additional filter!!
My plan tonight is to empty tank(inspect fuel) and attempt at removing the fuel rail. From initial thoughts, I feel that the fuel was clean from the tank and dirty in the rail, but I shall check that tonight!! Thanks all. Also, the fuel pump filter seems pretty minuscule. I am curious if anyone...
First off, this all sucks because I live a giant apartment complex and have barely any tools that are quickly available.
I was able to test the fuel pressure by T-ing into the fuel line. When I primed the bike, the pressure read 13psi and when I cranked it went down to 5psi. It then rose back...
Went to check the fuel pressure but the kit I got didn't have proper adapters. I plan on using regular fuel hose with hose clamps and T-ing into the hose to get fuel pressure tonight.
Awesome, Thank you! I was looking at testing the fuel pressure and I was curious if I need the entire system hooked up(hooked up to the fuel rail etc.) to test it properly or can I just hook pressure up to the tank(pump) outlet?
Thank you for all the insight!! This tool is for cleaning carbs i believe! Also I have seen the stubby impact screw driver used on automotive brakes! I believe we have those at work! I was only going to use a vice grip because I was following this post on removing fuel injectors on an R6. Impact...
I took the fuel tank out and plugged it so I can bring it to work tomorrow and test the fuel pressure. I was going to attempt to get into the fuel rail but the phillips head screws were so tight and I was afraid of stripping them. Going to get some vice grip pliers from work as well to help get...
