It's a nice bike and if it was available when I bought I might have opted for the lower spec just cos I need it more in the city then the hwy.
I think Yami did ok in europe where its called a "diversion", nothing wrong with that. I think The BIG mistake that yamaha made was adding this bike...
How about the flip side? My dad is 80+, still driving. I am the first to admit his driving skills are not what they used to be. BUT he and my mom live out in the middle of nowhere. There is no public transit and no taxis, the nearest store is 20 Km away. So without driving they would not be...
Yep. I normally would not accept another's M/C. Especially if I am not familiar with the bike. I'd feel bad if something went wrong. Not really worth the risk. I just admire their ride and slap 'em on the back... "You luck fellow you!"
From my perspective there are two dimensions to letting someone borrow your bike.
1) The material (the bike)
2) the safety (their health/well being)
for #1, I have insurance. Even if I did not, I would never put money before friendship.
for #2 It is not wise to let those without the...
I appreciate the support given and the various perspectives offered. You guys/gals are great, even the ones beating up on me;) I really appreciate being able to share, and "heal". There's not a lot of folks I can talk to here in Bangkok. Family are a long way off and good friends are few an...
Last Saturday we had a Christmas Party for my kid, as things go th kids went to bed, the acquaintances departed, and a small group of good friends remained. We were have a great time. swapping stories. We even touched on Motorcycling and how helmets saved people we know. As it came to...
Today I had an interesting experience. Checking my mirrors for taxi's on my tail, I hit a speed bump (not painted of course, black on black high contrast type!). I was in first gear going slowly maybe about 20km/hr.
This is what seemed to happen. Front wheel bumped up on the bump...
Just who do you think is not sympathetic? I do not interpret any post here as a lack of empathy. Just some guys, attempting to cheer a comrad up. Have a beer and chill out brother.
When it comes to matters of the heart, it is never easy. What you need is campanion you can trust... run out an hug your bike, it won't let you down!
A bit of humor to ease your pain....
lot's of reasons M/c are better than women/ex-wives ;)
..never snows in Bangkok! 30C+ most of the year. I'm lucky, I can wear out a set of tires while you fellows are riding your snowmobiles.
if you're feeling a little frosty and have some extra cash (yeah, right!) C'mon down to Thailand and take a MC tour holiday...
I know NONE of the...
Re: Youngest Pilion Age
Reading the posts here, there is one thing that comes across as a general theme, and that is that M/C are definitely secondary modes of transport. Here in Asia the Honda Step through IS the family car and thus the M/C is the main means of transportation for many. That...
Happy that you're OK. I expect the ankle bruises will heal faster than the bruised pride. It's darned fustrating lying under the bike with some morons gawking :eek:at you!
Just curious, if you had any advice to offer to others if you think you could have done someting differently to avoid...
I would say that that describes most any safety equiptment. It's like life insurance... hopefull you never need it. And like life insurance are you willing to die to find out you do need it?
My bike does not have ABS, nor is it offered here. I would not knock the bike due to the lack of...
Holy cow that's one excited prune! 184 beats/sec... if that was me I'd be blowing a gasket!
Congrats. Enjoy every step of the way as much as you can. It is a great thing, these little people that pop out of woman's tummies!
