Time to move on - FZ6 has gone

Indeed it is, very different to the FZ6 much easier to ride, similar power output but VERY different delivery. Easier to go quicker in most situations. All the best.

Time to move on - FZ6 has gone

Well, after much deliberation I have traded in my two year old FZ6 S2 for a new triumph tiger xc. New bike is great but boy was I sad to see my yam go, surprisingly so but it was my first road bike. I did a number of mods to it in the short time I owned it, mainly as a result of reading what you...

Michelin Pilot Road 2 or 3???

That's a pretty good price, I was going to buy on the net but I struggled to get a sensible fitting cost from local shops, ended up paying £240 the pair, fitted, new valves balanced etc. Was not great but got good service

Michelin Pilot Road 2 or 3???

I must admit I was very tempted by the 3's until I read a magazine article talking about the enhanced wet grip created by the sype (sipe?) "technology" at the expense of heat build up and wear. Looks to be a good tire for cold wet damp conditions like we have here in the uk! I will wait and...

Michelin Pilot Road 2 or 3???

I finally got my new tires this morning, I went for the Bridgestone BT023's. I managed to put 30 miles on them this afternoon but have to say I am VERY happy with them. Turn in is quicker and they feel very confidence inspiring, not tried the wet performance yet (hopefully wont for a little...

    6000 mile service cost!!!

wow 16k that's going some. This is my first road bike, I don't go crazy or do burn outs - I gather Michelin's are renown for good mileage. Good luck to you, I dont want a flat tire even if tread is still legal. Servicing in the UK is important when it comes to trade in value. Can feel a triumph...

    6000 mile service cost!!!

Hi, I got 6k out of my stock bt020 before getting down to the wear strips. Good to see you are recommending the BT023 I think I am going to go for them. My owners manual says service @ 600 miles, the next at 6k miles or perform an annual check if mileage is less. Thats where the 6k service...

    6000 mile service cost!!!

Just called a couple of local dealers to get a price for my FZ6 6k service. The first told me I needed my valves checked! The second gave me a price of £250! Seems like a lot of money for not a lot. Is this price typical? Its more expensive than getting a car serviced!!

    Mirror extender, blind spot reduction

Hi, I have just fitted some sw-motech mirror extenders to my 08 S2 Fazer, I can now have a view of whats behind me instead of looking at my shoulders. Nicely made but way over the top price wise but they are a safety aid and look like OEM fitment. No use on the naked model though. Cheers from...

    Yamaha Comfort Seat

wow, I bought one recently and I think the standard one is better! my butt started to ache with the new one 50 miles in to the ride. The standard set up is good for 100+ before it causes my ass to crack!! Very disappointed!

    Oil Filter Stuck - help!!

I am pleased to say I finally got the filter off - used a chain wrench in the end. Managed it without splitting the filter case - just!! I have adopted the more usual approach of nip it up by hand then give it a quarter of a turn. Seems fine. Glad I provided a laugh for some of you! I was...

OK, I tried the strap wrench and it did cave in the filter, initially I thought it was moving, it was, but not in the right direction! I am really p*ssed off now and will have to use a screw driver. So what is the deal with Yamaha? all that advice on torque settings and they do this to...
