What kind ouf oil are you using? Some synthetics are to slippery to use in bikes with a wet clutch. I sure does sound like clutch slippage though.

I will have for sale very soon, Givi V35 sidecases and mounting hardware, Yamaha touring wind screen and a Yamaha comfort seat. The sidecases are pretty scuffed up, but the other items are mint!

Here in Northern Ontario Canada it is only illegal to speed if you get caught...just kidding! 30 km/h over posted speed limit is consider 'street racing' which implies a heavy fine and liscence suspension for a few months. Repeat offences will suspend your liscence indefinitely.

The Oxford grips are awsome! They have a neat feature that if they are left on with out the bike running they will only drain the battery to I think its 11 or 11.5 volts, then shut them selves off. It may be the fuel injectors. If it was the valves the ticking would indicate slightly to much clearance. This situation is more favorable then not enough clearance, as it will lead to burnt valves and a poor performance and eventually a costly head job.

Re: Engine sound - related oil type? MP3 inside. I would start with checking the valve clearance. If this is ok check oil pressure. I have also heard injectors that sound alot like the noise you recorded, if so just drive it!
