Yet another vote for the exo-700 from me. I wear glasses, it isn't an issue at all. As stated if you're stopping a lot it's a tiny bit annoying, but no big deal.
My only complaint is after long trips, I start to get a pressure point right at the top front of my head. But by long I mean 15+...
Well if there's no fuel in the line and it's set to on or res then it could cause the engine to not start.. no fuel already there to start the engine means no vacuum to let more fuel flow down right?
Personally I would set it to prime (pointing to the back of the bike I believe), let it sit for...
We are talking about your fuel delivery right? Assuming you have the original pet**** it's a vacuum system. You should have two lines coming from it, one is the fuel line which goes down into the carbs, the other is a vacuum line that attaches to the #2 carb. You have 3 options on the fuel...
Hey Ted. I'm Ted. I also have an '86 FZ600 that I recently bought. Although I am having issues, not the same one.
Your "fuel pump".. That's the evaporative emission control unit on california models. From my understanding of it it isn't even needed to run the bike. All it does is catch...
I'm pretty sure my leak was where it actually screws in to the tank itself so I put some ... That goopy stuff to help it seal, can't think of the name >.>
I checked the o-ring washer you're talking about and mine looked sorta shot. Waiting for goopy stuff to cure so I can flip the tank over...
Valves adjusted, replaced 4 shims. New spark plugs, flushed out the gas tank and it was pretty clean as I thought. Put in a new fuel filter. Pet**** has a slow leak, not exactly sure where, going to see if I can track it down tomorrow.
Put 50km on her, power is vastly improved, and no more...
I did my '86 in probably.. 3 to 3.5 hours all together, never having had done an engine this complex and figuring it out as I went (with manual). This includes replacing 4 shims. I could probably do it again in 2ish hours now that I know what I'm doing.
I can do my CBR in 30 minutes but it's...
Carbs actually weren't at all as bad as I was expecting. Now that I have the airbox hooked up again, I think that it wasn't seated far enough forwards before, it's about half a cm further forward then when I first disconnected it. I didn't inspect the seal before I took it off so I can't say...
I myself have only taken one so far, of it stripped down. Have a few from the guy I bought the bike from, though.
In other news, carbs are done and back in the bike, I have the new gasket so I'll be sealing the clutch up again tomorrow, and I've figured out what size shims I need so now I'm...
Hey all,
New to the forums here. Just stumbled across it and it seems like a great forum with lots of info floating around. Figured I would share my experiences with my bike so far, maybe get a bit of feedback, maybe even help a person or two with my posts. I've been writing everything I'm...
