fz 600

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I just bought an 1986 fz600. It needs some work, but it was an unbelievable deal and the bike is solid despite being in rough shape. I have a few questions that i haven't been able to answer by searching around. Hopefully some of you might be able to help...

Hi guys, Just got a 86 fz 600, pretty mint condition everything seams good, but the tach isn't working, i did try boosting ( with a charger) it since the battery was dead (have a new one now), and i remember one time while the battery was dead i would hit the start and nothing would happen but...
