Chuck what specific provisions are included to ensure that illegal aliens will not be covered under the healthcare proposals? My understanding is that although they are technically excluded there is no mechanism to prevent this- probably why the gentleman from SC was so upset by the president's comments this week.

Chuck Todd: Nick: Square this circle for me: how do you guarantee that an illegal immigrant does not get care from a public hospital? Do we need to have national I.D. cards to get a doctor to treat an emergency? How will THAT go over? I'm not sure we can always be legislating for the negative, meaning, this idea that we have to make sure we don't do something that is already against the law... seems odd.

I asked a simple question, and the answer I got was that there is no provision for keeping illegals from being covered under the healthcare plan!!!! He just stated that thinking about actually enforcing our laws "SEEMS ODD", wtf man!?!

I don't condone Wilson's outburst but I fully understand his anger. No the medical industry is required to provide emergency service to anyone.


If you came home today and a family of four was in your house how would you react. What if they decide to live there and not leave?

True, and they do that. Emergency services are provided to anyone and everyone regardless of insurance or citizenship. What we don't do though is offer free healthcare insurance to illegal immigrants, yet.

And no one has suggested or otherwise written into any of the proposed bills that health insurance would be provided free to anyone. Health care reform has never been about "Free" health care. Medicare doesn't cover "Illegal" aliens and no one is proposing any such thing.

this is just another BS rightwing issue they come up with to get dim witts upset, like the Death Panel canard, so they will run out with their guns to the nearest tea bagger rally and scream about what a socialist nazi commie Obama is.

It is nothing more than disinformation design for no other purpose but to stop any meaningful improvement in the way we pay for health insurance in this country.

But in answer to your lunatic retorical question, I would have the Conservative Republican or Corporation that illegally hired them arrested. Then once all the illegal employers who prey on poor immigrants are in jail or learn their lesson, there wouldn't be any reason for them to come to this country in the first place.

But back to health care. The Republicans don't care about you. They don't care if you can go to a Doctor or if you live or die. They care only about money and power. And the Insurance Companies have both.

The Republicans are happy with the system just as it is. That is why they haven't bothered to even propose a bill of their own. They are happy to obstruct any effort at real reform because that is what the Insurance Companies are paying them to do.
