Here is a nice Fiskars brand pitch fork. Hardened steel tines, Cross handle on end with ergonomic grip. Just a high quality fork right here.

now this one has less tines but they are thicker. Great handle and real wood for that old fasioned feel on a new design.

For the pitchfork purists among us we have this three tine model that harks back to the olden days. Forged steel tines, simple wooden handle that has stood the test of time

Here we have a 6 tine manure fork. Forged steel and perfect for the skinnier members of congress.

That's the one for me.

Nice fork right there, I tell ya.

The Fiskars one may be the best of the bunch, but I'd never admit. They make good craft scissors. How can they possibly make good yard tools as well? A friend of mine got a Fiskars hatchet. I picked on him for it to no end. A year and many logs later the original edge is still sharp as can be. It splits wood like online porn splits marriages.

And still, the best I can say for it (in his presence) is "it's cute, for a girlie axe."

I gotta go with the triple tine fork. Solid ash handle, cuts down on blisters when your really going to town.

Three forged steel 12" long tines. Its like a giant frog gig. On a completely unrelated side note, Sen. Kennedy sort of looks like a frog.

You know it is a nice fork. I like the green too. Definately a ironic name as well.

What do you think of the oval tines though? I think the triangular ones will hold up better under hard use, and well a few hours with a file and whet stone could really get them to a special state of tune.

Do you think if we come up with a good solid design we could get a production run?

I am thinking 3-4 tines, forged steel, ash wood handle, triangular tines at least 11", red/white/blue paint.

What do you think of the Uncle Sam or maybe the Jeffersonian as a name?

What about torches? I'm thinking that a compact acetylene torch would be quite useful.

Hell yeah!!!

Now were talking. Like the kind with the piezio ignitor?

The old school torches are ok, but dripping burning pinetar and pitch is just a drag.

The old hemp rope soaked in oliveoil nailed and wound around a sturdy oak club is a nice authentic touch though.

Think Transylvania and the unruly peasant mobs of yore.

I bet we could be more efficient and come up with a pitchfork/torch combo. Also, the handle of the pitchfork could double as a barrel.
