TOG suggestions...

Although I'm not a big fan of TOG's, all the damage I've ever incurred to my FZ are from 0 MPH tip overs.

I'm looking for the best constructed, (preferably name brand-not junk) TOG, to protect mostly the fairing, fairing stay, etc.

I really don't want super long, goofy looking TOG' and it MUST have the "proper hardware" (long enough bolts/washers, etc).


There weren't any recent posts and perhaps some newer styles, companies, etc out there. A pic or link besides your
opinion would be appreciated...

I had a chance to road test my Woodcraft sliders and I can tell you that between those and my HVMP bar ends, neither my forks nor my swingarm ever touched the ground. I am using them again on the rebuild.....

Do you have the "domed" pucks:

(Specifically, if a simply tip over((which I've done several times, 0 MPH)), would those regular one's likely save the tank/fairing?

Remember this was a lowside at about 35ish mph. I also had HVMP bar ends on an FZ1 bar that was set as low as possible without the switch gear touching the tank. The bar bent when the bike hit the ground, so the switchgear did dent the tank, but with a regular FZ6 bar (especially 1 that is on risers like yours) the tank would have been untouched. The fairing stay bent, but thst was likely caused by the bike rolling over onto its left side.

I did have a 0mph tipover last summer and all I did was scrape the bar end and scratch the woodcraft.

Here are a couple of shots I sent to insurance. Notice the bar end. They are big and beefy and kept the front end up.

Got them installed today.

Very, very well made but darn they stick out out like sore thumb / highway pegs......
I dunno, hope I can get used to looking at them.

I can think of 2 times that I was so happy they stuck out as far as they do. Besides, with pipes like those who is going to notice your sliders?

No,,,, I know...

I don't like they way they (or any others others) stick out but, absolutely, I want the protection. I'm not getting any younger and drops will happen over time.

If they save the fairing/stay/tank on my next drop, they'll obviously be worth it..

Just have to get used to them...


*And I do appreciate the recommendation Tom. They are very well designed/made and I have no doubts they are the best I can put on my bike..
