Slips ons with catless mid?

Do you have an S1 (2004-2006 with round clock) or S2 (2007- 2009) model?

The S2 has an O2 sensor in the exhaust which is supposed to help the ECU modify the fuelling, but the S1 doesn't, so increasing the airflow through the engine will just make it run lean.

You can remap the fuelling with a Power Commander or similar which have maps available for various setups, but if you want a custom map for your system, you'll need a dyno run.

Your new set up will OFTEN cause a very noticeable surging idle...

I have "OPEN" Scorps with the cat and it's plenty loud (once past approx 4,000 RPM's)
but have a solid idle and absolutely no operating issues (no de-cel backfires, etc)..

Might want to leave the cat in....

I have a 2007 so it's the S2. Good info thank you!

Thanks for the info guys! I'm currently running the slips ons with DB killers kept in and it's not very loud but if I remove the db killers it's ear piercing. Was hoping catless would add a little more volume or change the tone a bit

You believe this will still occur if I run with DB killers in?

DB Killers in, you should be fine.

Way back, I had to pay extra for the DB killers.
Put em in, didn't make it to the end of the driveway before they got pulled and SOLD..

The bike sounded stock with them in. The Scorps I think have a lower, deeper tone than
yours and as stated earlier, below 4k (48 MPH) their very easy to live with. Most
of my riding is in town...

You can hear them in this video (for the charging system):

As Gary stated, I would leave the Cat in and progressively, open up the DB killers
till you get the volume you want...
