    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Educating myself on how this particular FI system works, it seems like the TPS should be fine since I did not move the butterfly valves. Also, I'm quite sure the plugs are fine considering I've put 600+ miles on it since I checked the plugs and there's no reason to believe they are misfiring...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Vibe signatures changed but it's still vibing like crazy. I tried turning the screws in 1/2 turn, no change. Is there an easy way to be damn sure the plugs are all firing and the coils are not bad? A resistance check on the coils yielded equal values amongst all of them, so that doesn't seem to...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Very good. Glad I listened to myself on this one and left the butterfly screws alone. I did bottom the air screws out, turned them 2 1/2 turns out, and started the bike. Seemed like it warmed up and idled smoother. I'll take it for a test ride when I can, see if it fixed it. I take it the...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Well, I finally got around to looking at the plugs. All plugs look like they're firing and firing well (light tan/greyish color). Also, you can see the electrodes are wearing a bit on each of them. This tells me all cyls are firing. I even checked the resistance on the coils and they all read...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Would it sound like a popping sound coming out of the exhaust, as if one cylinder wasn't firing? Would a rough idle be a symptom? Fred recommended checking the plugs because I'm still get vibrations despite taking it to another shop and them telling me the bike is running great. I'm debating on...

Have a quick question regarding plug misfires? Would one be obvious to the listener at idle or speed?

That's true, it's a vac tool not a spark tool. I guess that's what you get for a being a rookie at working on sport bikes. :) I'll check the plugs and report back. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I tossed the old ones. Suppose I'll need a new set if the ones that come out are shot. Waiting for Fred to chime in with his take on the matter.

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Is it possible cylinders could be misfiring or not firing at all even though the carb syncer shows all cylinders appear to be drawing vacuum? Seems to me if one or more were fouled out or not firing at all, the carb syncer would make this apparent. Also, I touched each header pipe and they were...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

This bike uses wire harnesses that clip into place. I was considering going back down to the plugs again to have a look. However, the shop said they were fine. Wondering if I should believe them though considering they told me the bike was supposed to vibrate. lol.

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Ok, following your procedure above, I did the sync a bunch of times at operating temp (175 - 190F). Attached are the pics from the Carbtune indicating that the vacuum is as close to 18 as I can get it. The first pic is just for reference. The rest are shots of the gauge readings. They bounced...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Other than pulling the airbox off and on a few times, I don't see any reason why there would be a leak. I checked the rear motor mounts tonight and they did tighten up a bit to 33ft-lbs. Doubt that'll totally cure the vibes but I'm sure it can't hurt. The fronts were already tight. Plan on...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

This is exactly what happened to me when I started to close the screws. I love the comment about them not being intuitive, and that pressure on the screw changes vacuum. Only experience can tell you those things. Should've listened to my dad and NOT touched that 3rd screw! :) One last...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

Fred, thanks for the info! My manual for the R6 says vac at idle (1250~1350rpm) should be 18cmHg. I tried getting it therewith my previous syncs but it wouldn't go without the engine bogging down. Maybe I adjusted the screws in the wrong direction or too quickly, not sure. I'm wondering...

    Insight on synchronizing throttle bodies?

I have a question on syncing myself...sorry post is so long, gotta get the story out. have an 07 yamaha r6s, bought the morgan carbtune, did the sync, bike vibrated like crazy afterwards. Tried the sync 3 more times, same thing. brought it to the shop, paid $200, bike came back the same and...
