I use a Valentine 1 tucked between my instruments and the windscreen (a bit of velcro holds it in place). The bike is loud enough that I can't really hear it unless I'm going less than 60mph and the LED's don't catch my attention in bright sunlight. I'm usually looking past it unlike when it's...
I put an Arrow cat eliminator pipe on my bike a couple of years ago. I didn't notice much of a difference in the performance or sound. I watched for slip-ons and got a good deal on some slightly used ones. They make for a world of difference.
I enjoyed a couple of track days on the FZ6 but the suspension was extremely limiting. I put in heavier weight fork oil as an attempt to help, and it did a little, but not enough to keep the front end from diving pitifully when under hard braking. I could have spent a couple of grand on the FZ...
We were hammered with snow on Saturday and Sunday. Almost 30" of snow in about 36 hours. I plow snow for side work and I was more than a little busy. That's good news though. It helps pay for the summertime fun! I have three bikes in the basement and whenever I get the winter blues I go...
The FZ is for the street, the Hawk is stricktly track. The Hawk gets most of the mods, the FZ just got the minimum mods necessary to make it my bike (PC, cat elim pipe, exhaust, eliminated fender, better directionals, etc.)
I do the ground pat for any other biker and flash my headlights at any oncoming vehicle that I am certain isn't another officer.
I've been warned of a speed trap too many times to not pass along the love to all types of other traffic.
I sold my Ducati Monster to buy a house. The girl I was dating at the time knew how much it tore me up to do it. Two years later we were married. She bought me my FZ6 as a wedding present (it's way more comfortable for her as a pillion). I think I'll keep her for a while...
Some times timing is funny. I had cleaned my chain, lightly lubed it, and put it away. Apparently I didn't lube it enough because the next time I took it out it had some very mild rust on it in a few spots. I commute on the bike, and work long hours. I figured I'd re-clean the chain on the...
