Need Help Not clearing 62 diag

If I remember correctly, the relay assembly I refer to is under the left side plastic pod on the side of the bike, below the seat. It is a single sealed unit that houses the 2 relays. It has a 16 pin plug. The reason I've asked previously about the fuel pump priming is to establish there is...

Need Help Not clearing 62 diag

Okay. There is a module called the "starter interrupt- cut off relay" It has 2 relays. One relay is for the starter circuit and one relay is for the fuel pump/injection. Since it sounds like you have spark and starter spray has fires the engine, you may not have fuel. When you turn the key on...

You can make the fuel pump and injection work but you will be bypassing safety protocol. Do you have a neutral safety light when the bike is in neutral?

Need Help Not clearing 62 diag

A history of the bike might be helpful. Was the bike running recently? What is static voltage of the battery. Has this bike been stolen or attempted stolen. Coils can read good when testing with a meter but have intermittent failure during operation at temperature. You may have a switching...

The clutch switch and side stand switch pass through a diode network in a module called the 'starter interrupt- cut off relay assembly' You might do tests via the service manual before looking at the ECU.

Prime and crank but no start

The ECU outputs a signal thru the clutch switch that then passed through 2 diodes on the starter interrupt-cut off relay assembly. One diode to the side stand switch and the other diode to the neutral safety switch. I agree It doesn't make sense. Some logic may be set by the ECU in at some point...

Prime and crank but no start

Great! It looks like the ECU is Allowing fuel pump prime but it's not allowing the fuel pump/injectors to run. There's a unit called the Starter interrupt- cut off relay unit. It's responsible for the safety protocols. I see since I've started responding to your last post that you've got it...

    Summer is coming

Leave the wasp nests to the pros. The last one is surely the best and I laughed too hard at this poor bastard!

Prime and crank but no start

There's red with blue tracer wire at the fuel pump. Check to see if you have 12 vdc there with the key turn to on. The same at the ignition coils. There is a red with black tracer that feed the coils. You want to see 12 vdc. with the key turned on.

Prime and crank but no start

Both the coils and the fuel injectors get their ground path through the ECU I imagine the immobilizer has to give the ECU the okay. I would still follow the basic path of spark and fuel presence first. Then you can look at other scenarios.

    Question Misfire at low revs

Welcome to our great forum and G'day mate! Coils can be tricky. It sounds like you're on the right track with the secondary focus. You might also check and redress the secondary connection to the spark plug assemblies. A compression check on the offending cylinder might also be in order.

    Stutter/no acceleration/power loss when hot

Be careful when opening that switch assembly. I remember someone on the forum losing a small ball bearing.

    S2 tacho select/reset buttons

Have you already removed and tested the switch? Also test the function on the board to see is it's not the IC input failure.

    FZ6 S1 vs S2

I believe the frame and engine color changed to black in 2006. This is likely 2004 or 2005 S1.

    FZ6 S1 vs S2

Yes, that's the different subframe, unless of course, the subframe was swapped. Lots of parts S1 and S2 are interchangeable.

Also there are different components like the swing arm, sub frame, front brake calipers and livery to name a few, that can Identify the series. The bike in the link is S1 probably manufactured in 2005.
