What happens if you drop a Fz that has fixed foot pegs? (Ottimoto)

Thankfully I don't know yet! I kept my stock ones for that very reason when I put my Valtermotos on. Check some old posts though - I think Wolfman crashed with a set of fixed pegs. If I recall they fared pretty well, but double check. Also, it wasn't the same brand of pegs, so YMMV.

    Signs of a knackered chain

You have two questions to look at. One is chain adjustment, and the other is whether the chain needs to be replaced. For slack, there is a specification of how much the chain can be moved up and down (sorry for the non-technical wording of that). On my 2007, it's 45mm-55mm from pulling the...

Witnessed a crash - shaken up

Totally. He didn't have a place to swerve in this instance, but I was thinking the same thing. You have to react with a combination of braking and swerving immediately - no time to think about it.

Witnessed a crash - shaken up

A rider crashed pretty bad right in front of me yesterday - super scary situation. I had the very unfortunate experience of lifting his bike off of his lifeless body and checking for signs of life. I think he's going to be okay, but he didn't look in good shape right after the crash. A...

Crazy homeless dude tried to mess with me

As I approached a red light the other day, I noticed a homeless/crazy guy walking in the middle of the street yelling at cars and waving his arms. Luckily there was no one in front of me, so I started to plan my escape even before I got to a stop, in case this nutball tried something. Sure...

    Losing myself in this forum

This forum cost me an extra year of grad school - would surf for hours instead of drafting my thesis.

Where do you work and what do you do?

Update: I work at a place called Intersect ENT now. We make a drug eluting sinus stent. It's a pretty cool technology. We got FDA approval and launched a new product last month and so far everyone loves it. Also check out the "how it works" video. Intersect ENT I'm still loving...

That's awesome! Can't wait for our first group ride. Or maybe when I get my Kawi running, we'll have to hit some trails, and leave you at home

    Frame Sliders got tested...

That sucks dude, glad the damage wasn't worse. I actually watched from my office window as someone did almost the exact same thing to me - hooked my front tire on his bumper pulling out of a spot. Luckily for me the bike just pivoted around on the sidestand and didn't fall over. Strangely it...

Down to the wear bars - have to get a new tire soon

Yes it's my tire (shameful, I know). It's on the front, and I'm not sure exactly how many miles it is, but I put them on around June 2010, so about 10k to 13k miles ago. It's a Pirelli Angel ST, and I'm putting the same thing back on.

45k to 60k here. I have 40k on the Fizzer, and somewhere between 5k and 20k from my previous 2 bikes.

Oi! Sorry to hear about the trouble! I went through several days of bump starting/searching for a battery recently, so I feel your pain. Glad you at least weren't stranded during your ride!
