How many of us FZ6 owners bought their bikes from the showroom?

Bought mine new from the dealer in 2007, now has 144000 km's on the clock

My Convert FZ6 (Im not a pro painter be warned)

Actually there are quite a lot of guys doing this on a Dutch motorcycle facebook group i'm subscribed to and it seems to work well, one of the guys is keeping tabs on it to see if it stays like that (and doesn't prematurely rust/darken again)

cdi dead in yamaha fz6 fazer S2 (europe model)

Sorry to hear that you couldn't fix the problem :( but great to see you're back on the road again  I'm having troubles with my ECU at the moment, it has already been to a service centre to get it "repaired" after causing misfiring, after leaving me stranded a while ago it has totally...

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

That would be a nice bike Botch, and TBH I don't mind putting a bit of work into it (but not too much as a bike has to be ridden :D) but one of the (many) things that I love about my euro FZ6 S2 is the ABS and the different saddle.

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

I agree maintenance is an important factor for me riding so many Km's, I keep looking at other bikes but the maintanence has to be done so much more often, it would cost me a fortune, and as you said the valve clearances are the most expensive. Luckily the MT-09 maintenance scedule looks almost...

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

Don't I know it, that's why I would totally trust another Yamaha  Unlike most people here my bike is stood outside my house open to the elements, and not only did I rack up plenty of Km's I rode through 10 winters, what a bike.

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

Nice bike for a nice price, if I buy a second hand FZ6 I'll have to sell my present one, and I think it's worth more in parts, another idea I was playing with was to buy another red bike and use my present one as a back up for spares if necessary (but mrs Cloggy wasn't too wild about that idea...

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

143000 (and a bit) Km's, the engine still going strong but there a few major issues looming, and my thinking is to not plow a lot of money into a bike that will not increase the value, and invest it in a new bike. The idea of a new bike goes with the idea that I might get some money for a trade...

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

I have thought about it, a very popular model over here, but it's only 71 HP and a V-Twin, and to be honest I'm not yet sold on the all road type bikes, although I will be trying the MT-09  I really think if there was a similar bike to the FZ-6 now I would buy it, it ticks all the...

Took a test ride on a BMW F800R yesterday

Well it wasn't planned I originally went to the bike shop to get a ride on the MT-09, but they had just sold their previous test bike and the new one had to be prepped. Anyway they had a BMW F800R on special offer and they let me take a spin. Well I was not impressed, mainly as the engine was a...

New Laws for Motorists in Germany and France

What bugs me is we're supposed to be a united europe, but each country has different rules, and many have their own tarrifs for using the road, it would be easier if Europe would standarise these charges or create a pass that covers all travel costs. Subsidised public transport is a good way of...

    Completely screwed!!

Scott unfortunately they didn't but they quickly told me how to, unfortunately I didn't remember how. You first had to go into the diagnostic mode by keeping the set and select buttons pressed in whilst turning the key, then I remember something about using the engine kill switch and selecting...

    Completely screwed!!

Anyway the garage just started up the bike without any problems, they could still see the ER-2 in the memory (together with a whole bunch of error codes) but everything was working normal. Anyway I'm just going to ride it and see if anything goes wrong. The reason I didn't post earlier is...

    Speed sensor ABS

If you follow this link you will see a pic of the ECU, under the tank http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/54075-after-washing-er_1-code-sputtering-my-fz6.html (thanks to Randy for the pic). Good luck
