Actually there are quite a lot of guys doing this on a Dutch motorcycle facebook group i'm subscribed to and it seems to work well, one of the guys is keeping tabs on it to see if it stays like that (and doesn't prematurely rust/darken again) :thumbup:

That would be a nice bike Botch, and TBH I don't mind putting a bit of work into it (but not too much as a bike has to be ridden :D) but one of the (many) things that I love about my euro FZ6 S2 is the ABS and the different saddle.
