Hey Cliff - yeah for sure it is a smart tender and I have used them exclusively for 5 years on the bike battery. I use the deltran JR. It sounds as if it would be ok to do this. These are old batteries with some life still left in them. Thanks, Tom

How is your battery? With a really lame charging system when the battery gets weak the bike will start running poorly much like you described about 3 cylinders not 4

Jim - I have morimoto mini H1's in mine. these are 2.5". The fit is already tight with the shrouds using the mini gatling gund shrouds. Not saying it cannot be done with 3" projectors but I would think you should be prepared to shave off a bunch from the shroud to make it work. I am interested...

I hear what you are saying about not wanting to spend that much or the need for it to look perfect. IMO take it for what it is a cheap repair is going to look worse than it looks now. I don't think you would be able to reach that dent from the filler hole (after removing). It's too far forward
