    Headlight doesn't work

Are you sure? Having connected this way (according to the manual) I get high/low beams as per dimmer switch setting. Maybe 07 bikes have different wire color codes as well as changed manual?

    Headlight doesn't work

Yeah, I'm using an MT03 headlight with H4 bulb, unless I messed remembering the voltages supplied are as specified below (running engine) When the low beam is ON, voltage is supplied to black/green wire, when the high beam is ON, voltage is supplied to BOTH, black/yellow and black/green...

    Buying Used 08 FZ6 Question

I've just removed my rear brake caliper and tried spinning the wheel - literally no difference! Should the chain/rear sprocket be removed when doing this test? I don't understand where this tension is coming from, with a considerable pull I only get 2/3 - 1 revolutions at most. There's no free...

    Headlight doesn't work

Motogiro is correct, the manual is wrong. Heya Motogiro, that is not correct at least for 2004, black/yellow is low beam and black/green is high beam, part of the problem was that I've mixed them up in my naked conversion last year, full problem was the bulb. Black/yellow should be the top...

    Headlight doesn't work

I'm now thinking it's the bulb, will buy another one and see if it helps. I've found a test procedure with a multimeter no resistance between eighter beam pin and ground infinite resistance between beam pins I get no resistance between them all.

    Headlight doesn't work

Okay, so here's the deal. The bulb is H4 type, voltage is passed to the bulb connector when the engine is running. Bulb is structurally intact and there's connectivity when testing with a multimeter between legs, I don't see anything wrong with it. Bulb connector has three wires: black...

Sports bike v old Rat bike!

Beat at what, accelerating in a straight line from 0 up to 40mph? Guess all those engineers designing these bikes know nothing after all eh, they should hire that old man do the work :) The CBR doesn't need any money thrown in it already beats that HD in every riding related way imaginable...

What's your biker rage story? (mine from today)

Here's this nice video I've found of how a guy on a bike keeps his cool and remains polite. Polite road rage! - YouTube

    Fuel tank bolt snapped

another option would be to weld something on your snapped bolt so that you could unscrew it. Also, if I remember correctly these are bolts with big round heads, what you could do is flatten the head slightly from two sides with an angle grinder to have this sort of (__) shape and use an...

    Buying Used 08 FZ6 Question

Did you just replace the seals or also cleaned your calipers? I wonder if the same results would've been achieved just by cleaning everything and reusing the old seals. I'm getting half a turn on my rear wheel at the moment, guess I'll find out soon enough as I don't have new seals.

Sports bike v old Rat bike!

It's entertaining alright but as stated by many perfectly understandable given the differences in torque and it's delivery across the RPM range between these bikes. Torque to accelerate, HP to fight wind, that was my understanding of the differences basically so torque helps down low, HP at...

Fuel Grade (regular, mid-range or premium)

Owner's manual has this "Your Yamaha engine has been designed to use regular unleaded gasoline with a research octane number of 91 or higher." It's actually hard to get anything lower than 95 where I live so I use that (as most of other people for anything petrol based). There's 98 octane...

    Headlight doesn't work

The connector that attaches to the lamp does not supply voltage, without that I didn't even check the bulb. If I remember correctly, motor can be switched off and low beam would work, it needs to be running only for the high beam to work, is that correct? Could you expand on your last...

    Bike is Driving me nuts

Correct me if I'm wrong please, but I've read that in 06 the bike injection system was upgraded from batch firing order to sequential firing order. His bike being 08, would this mean #1 and #4 cylinders would no longer be linked as the spark delivery is no longer in pairs for the cylinders?

    Headlight doesn't work

I've noticed my headlight doesn't work - no low/high beam, running light works though. With ignition ON, I've checked the 3 pin connector coming to the bulb and there's no voltage in there. The manual states to check the wiring from bulb to dimmer switch, the dimmer switch itself and headlight...

What's your biker rage story? (mine from today)

It happened so fast I didn't even had the time (with my horn skills) to sound it, I did use the horn later, but mostly as a "hey you, look what you just did" type of measure. I should practice more horn use indeed, I use it so rarely that when the time comes to do it I fail/panic and don't...

    Red Key ?

Hi fazil, This is not correct, I bought my bike crashed, it didn't even have the back fairing nor the lean sensor, it was lost in damage. I got 2 keys, no red one, after fitting in lean sensor from another bike it started no problems. My only concern is that the immobilizer might "lose...

This bike gets one more chance before I sell it.

Light switch throttle was a major downside to me as well, I've bough a PC3 just for that reason and it solved it. If I were you I'd be looking for used PC3USB, shouldn't be too hard being in US, also 15T front sprocket helps somewhat with the clunky gearbox (probably due to being in higher rpms)...

    Bike is Driving me nuts

Do you get erratic idle? What happened to your spark plugs, how do you know it was a problem? When did you last changed them? You could try fitting new spark plugs or swap the one from cyl. 1 with another cylinder if it looks mechanically fine and then use the same method to determine if the...

What's your biker rage story? (mine from today)

Last year, I was riding in a first lane of two lane road, somewhat above the speed limit, but not much. This little POS Peugeot cage thinks he wants to go faster and starts overtaking me, I don't accelerate - let him, but he's so slow that it's taking him ages to overtake me and I have no reason...
