    TofuJunky87's FZ Reincarnation

Someone posted on here a while ago that you could use a spark plug socket to do the job of spindle removal. Insert the extension bar through the socket from the side that grips the spark plug. You can then use the nut to insert into the spindle. I've used this method several times and it works...

That looks very good. A few members have welded their frames there. Yours looks the tidiest I have seen.

    Note to self..

Cold is a real Bugger. Wind chill is the defining factor. I once set off from Reading to Birmingham (UK) on a beautiful afternoon in September. I had just got my first mesh jacket and was determined to give it a trial. Riding at motorway speeds I soon had to stop and put a base layer and my...

04-06 main fairing; new, never used. $60

That's the problem with text isn't it. Sometimes the most innocent remark can be taken with offense. I'm glad that on reflection you are decent enough to clarify the matter. 60 bucks is a good deal. Ron Ayres had cowling for the S1 at 90 bucks a while ago. I'm sure it will be sold very quickly.

Naked vs Faired - all year round.

Hi Kenny, when I was a McMinn courier years ago I had the first generation bar mitts. They used to implode at speeds over 60mph and puts the front break.it was very disconcerting.

    A lesson in economics.....

No I didn't sell it. my wife said "What are you doing" "It took you five years to be in a position to get a bike after selling your previous bike". My parents (also bikers) said don't go there. I'm delighted with the no sale and love the bike all over again.

    A lesson in economics.....

Thats the thing isn't it, If I sold the bike I would quite literally been giving up motorcycling. And that means more to me than the cage.

    140 bikes burned to crisp

I hope no one was injured, I'm amazed at how well the tyres held up considering the temperatures.

Naked vs Faired - all year round.

I have had naked and faired bikes, in my honest opinion even a bikini fairing makes a difference. As for hands you can always go the heated bar route regardless if what you ride.

Levers. What do you have and where did you get it?

I purchased the cheap ones from an advert placed here on the forum. they have dulled slightly in the last 4 years. They still work great and I am happy for about three quality. generally you do get what you pay for. Nelly

I'm glad your okay. Personally I would try and fix it. Like you say it depends on the insurance.

    A lesson in economics.....

What is the value of your bike? What I mean of course is how much is it worth to you? I almost sold my 9 year old FZ6 today. Having brought a second car for the first time in my adult life the FZ6 was not getting used much and for the sake of economy I decided that it was going to go. So I...
