    Suggestions for San Francisco trip

My daughter and I are flying out to San Francisco to visit family in May. And since my FZ6 won't fit in the overhead bin on the plane, I've rented a BMW k1600gt to ride while we are out there. I know there are some great roads in the SF area, and would appreciate any suggestions for day trips...

    Back in the saddle

I'm back, Baby! Today, for the first time since I broke my leg on my FZ6 back in November, I was able to fire it up and ride. I can't begin to covey how great it felt to once again cruise down the road on my bike. I took it easy, and headed to the local high school parking lot to practice low...

    Protective motorcycle footwear

Now that the day I can once again ride my FZ6 is near, I'd like to ask if anyone of you have any advice regarding ankle protective motorcycle boots. I broke my tibia on my FZ6 when i hit a muddy patch on a gravel road. Even though I was traveling at walking speed, the resulting fall torqued my...

    last ride for a while

In in the ER now waiting on a consult for my broken left tibia. I was Riding slowly on a gravel road and hit a muddy area. The bike fell and the result is a badly broken tibia. Kind of puts a damper on the day.

    Compact tire inflator

Does anyone know of a tire inflator that is small enough to fit under the seat of a 2005 FZ6? I often find myself in places where a flat would be a serious problem, but the only storage space on my bike is under the seat.

My FZ6 never fails to make me smile

It's a beautiful morning here in Northern Virginia. While riding my FZ6 to my office today I had time to reflect on how much I enjoy riding this motorcycle. I bought it last October with 9400 miles on the odometer, and have since added 4200 trouble free miles to that amount. It's the first...

    It's been too long

I just got back from my first ride on my Fizzer since before Thanksgiving. We've been having an absolutely miserable winter here in Northern Virgina. Not any significant snow, but just unrelenting cold and wind, definitely not motorcycling weather (for me, anyway). Today, however, the...

    Battery Question

I think I still have a problem with my battery. I use a battery tender, and i find that even on a fully charged battery, I can start my FZ6 only 5 times before getting the clicking of the starter relay. I don't think that is normal. Can anyone out there confirm that they can start their bike...

New Top Saddlery seat just arrived

My friendly UPS delivery man just dropped off a rather large box from France containing my new seat for my FZ6. I ordered it just last Sunday (10/31/10). It arrived in perfect condition, well packed in a large, double thickness corrugated box, and surrounded by lots of shredded foam. It looks...

    It was a great weekend

I picked up my bike from the shop this past Friday. They found the cause of the dead battery ( loose connection at the battery). I was a bit apprehensive about the ride home from the shop, as I am a new rider, and some of the roads I needed to take were highways, and i had never ridden an...

    Bump start procedure

Can someone describe a safe procedure for "bump starting" a fz6 by one's self? Can it be done on a flat (no slope) surface? It would be good to have options if I have continuing issues with dead batteries. Thanks

    Kinda Funny Story

I'm a total newby when it comes to motorcycles. I took the MSF course, and and now a duly licensed motorcyclist. Not more than an hour ago, title to a 2005 silver FZ6 with 9400 miles on the clock was signed over to me by its previous owner. Hands were shaken, and it was time to ride away on...
