Very interesting view and experience. I am glad I posted this. Would never learn things like that. And as dako81 said, it wasn't meant to be.
So waiting for April / May 2018. Bike is in nice warm place, battery tender hooked up and everything under control.
So yesterday I got buyer looking at bike. We agreed on price day before and he showed up with trailer. I went to MOT for "vehicle information package" and prepared 2 simple contracts. First he looked at the bike (in garage) fro all sides. I showed him manual with some service records. Last...
I think it is end of a line for me in regards to motorcycles. I had first one when I was 16. Eastern block production MZ150. Piece of crap but it moved me around. My wife is against bike, you know dangerous and I am too old for that kind of things. I had a good case for it while we had townhouse...
Nobody here will remember but 5 years ago I took my FZ from Toronto to Sarasota. That was quite ordeal since I managed to do it on weekend when they measured highest temperatures ever recorded in Eastern part of USA. So this time going back I was not to repeat past mistakes.
What happened is...
Here is an update. I flew to Sarasota a week ago on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday morning I took my bike to former Granny's now Power Motor Sports on University / 301 for service. 3 hours and 400 dollars later bike was ready. They replaced oil, filter, air filter, spark plugs and lubed cables...
Very interesting views. Everybody wants test ride but almost nobody is ready to give keys to buyer. With FZ6 there is a great chance that some beginner will come for it. It's really perfect starter or intermediate bike.
We'll see how it goes. I'll report what happened.
Soon I will be selling my FZ6 :(
I am just wondering do you guys allow buyer a test ride? Maybe stupid question but when selling a car you ride right seat. With bike you can't do that. I wouldn't like to see back of my bike disappearing down a road and no money in hand.
Not yet. I am planning that trip to Sarasota and back for end of May, beginning of June. I need good weather window of 3-4 days. Ride back to Toronto will take 2 days to complete. I need to get ready with ideas and solutions otherwise ride back will be painful. It would be easier if it is left...
I already read 10 pages deep thread started by FInalimpact. Very interesting. Somehow I believed to be lonely sufferer of vibrations problem contributing it to myself and age. However, it looks like that FZ6 is "buzzy" bike.
So based on suggestions in this thread and everything I read in...
Thank you for both suggestions. I am reading on other people experienced same thing. I already replaced grips. Bought silicone ones, thicker than stock, software, but that didn't do a thing :(
Hi there,
Don't know where exactly where to put this post, general or mechanical help so I'll try here first.
I have 2007 FZ6 and for years already I am experiencing subtle vibration in my right hand side grip. It's not like Harley where on traffic light stop whole bike, including tips of...
Right! I always pay my own mistakes and this one costed a $44 for battery + $36 for 3 Uber drives + 4 hours getting and trying to connect wrong battery.
Yesterday I arrived from Toronto to beloved Sarasota, FL. Took Uber to our place counting on my trusty FZ6 sitting in garage. Before going to sleep I plugged in battery charger to get it ready for tomorrow. Normally I keep it on all the time but this time it was unplugged for 2 months. More...
When cold my bike starts at first touch. Even after not riding it for 2 months. When hot it is different story. Starter sounds normal, fast, but engine will start after 2-4 seconds of cranking.
Can't explain this but I often get fear that it will not start as it happened to OP
I bought tire plug kit in Wal Mart. Also I got miniature compressor with cigarette light plug. Together less than 25 bucks. I didn't need it yet and hope will never do.
Plug kit fits easily under the seat. Compressor in my rear bag. I think you could use same kind of setup and instead of...
Hi everybody,
It is not a big deal but I got enough of stock skinny grips and decided to improve that situation. I kind of feel small vibration on right side and my fingers get numb after a while. That is a hand you can't rest by removing from the handle bar since it is a gas so bike slows down...
Agree 100%, moreover I think it is total bull*#@ promoted by manufacturers because if you ask them they would want to sell you a new helmet every 2 months.
No manufacturer will ever post helmet 5 year expiry date on their sites and papers because that would mean plain lying to the public. It...
People got all ecstatic about LED lights. I like how they look like too, however up to this day I didn't see proper replacement for turn signal and stop light!
Driving behind bike like that one can't see what biker is signalling. It doesn't even have to be very sunny day. Don't forget that...
