Sorry, don't have an answer to your question, but have you tried posting at the FZ6R forums? (The FZ6R is an entirely different bike than then FZ6) : Yamaha FZ6R Forum Community
Went to another body shop today and this guy estimated $1000
Now, $900 for all the extras (fairings/front/tuning forks) BH322893 has painted seems like it is worth it, but $1000 for just the tank and the tail?
I don't mind paying a good amount of money to get a good quality paint...
Thanks. I have read that thread on SBN, very informative.
I have now gone to 3 different body shops. Two of them estimated $400 for a 3-stage pearl paint job on the tank, tail/grab bars, and rear fenders. The other shop estimated $300. Add an extra $50-$75 to paint the front fender.
I did...
I've seen a lot of paint job threads, but not much on cost. An FZ6 doesn't have nearly as much to paint as a typical sportsbike, especially so if yours is naked! I think you only have the tank and the tailpeice.
What did your paint job cost? Was it done by a professional? What color? Is your...
Keep it under 8000 RPM and it should be pretty tame. I went from a ninja 250R to a new FZ6. I was keeping it under 6k rpm for break in and was surprised how easy it is to ride if you keep the engine speed down. Take it easy, once you get a feel for it you won't be bumming!
What would you do? The driver was following them and didn't seem to intend on stopping. You stop, he stops and gets out, how would you recommended getting away from someone like that that is insistent on following you? Going faster than the truck can keep up is not a smart option either.
I'd say getting that guy off the road and potentially behind bars for a little while is worth the ticket you could potentially get, as he will most likely continue acting like that and could eventually kill someone.
In Fowlerville, MI earlier this week a high speed chase at 4:20 AM ended in the biker being killed by rear ending a cop car that was merging on the express way to join the chase.
I obviously can't defend the bikers actions at all, however, I would think that police officers would have more...
You do not use your own bike during the course. You learn, practice, and test on a little 125cc bike that the MSF provides. There is no reason to wait until his bike is out of the shop to take the course, in fact, wouldn't it be better to use this downtime to take the course rather than take it...
I'll re-enforce this, take the msf, it costs a lot less than repairing your body/bike. No excuses, do it.
What do you do in an emergency stop if you rear tire locks up, how about if the front locks up? You don't want to learn those kinds of things with real world experience, you want to learn...
I did this mod, but decided to use the horn. I can usually hit the horn quickly enough that it is very quick and relatively quiet.
I created 2 adapters using crimp "blade" connectors so that i did not have to modify or tap into stock wiring (see attached image).
In the attached image, I...
Because if it costs more it must be better, right?
I just bought a brand new scorpion helmet for $70, dot and snell certified. It isn't as fancy looking as some of the more expensive ones, but it is just as safe, if not safer, than most.
I did not have to shift it again, it either popped into gear on its own if it wasnt fully into gear, or it was fully in gear the whole time.
Could this sound have been anything else other than not being fully in gear>
