    FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question

I can't find the pinouts moto. Not even sure how to look honestly - and I'm at work so the webwasher crap foils me at every turn. There's probably some sweaty guy in a server room right now starting to notice my obsession. I'm going to have to quit. Yamaha part number is: 2XL-81960-A0-00 I...

    FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question

Wow.... this isn't looking good. Maybe I should just find a 7 wire? Would there be any way to know if the wires do the same thing on say... the latest generation R1? They have 7 wires. And Mosfet regulators. (such as the shindengen FH012 instead of the SH-6 something I got...) In which case I'd...

    FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question

Here's another JPG - best resolution I could find, and I've colored the traces that seem to be tied into this coil. Looks to be the entire lighting system. If you have trouble seeing it, save to disk and then open with picture viewer - that has a magnification function on it. The forum image...

    FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question

Thanks for the reply Moto. That's the best image I could get. Looks like that extra coil runs (Br) out to the R/Y wire on the fuse box that reads 20A Head, also ties into Signal and Ignition (both 10A) then arrives at the ignition switch as Br. I'm working on a color version that highlights...

    FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question

FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question - 7 wire to 5 I have managed to find the wiring diagrams for both the 1986 Fz600 and the 1999/2000 R1 (regulator I purchased). In going over these diagrams I may have found my problem: the R1 has a generator and the FZ has an alternator. The question here...

Yeah - what's with that? I understand the reason to censor certain words but you'd think the whole word wouldn't be in the filter.

    FZ600 Voltage Regulator Question

First off I'd like to say GREAT IDEA to have a whole room dedicated to electrical stuff. Love it. So down to brass tacks: My 1986 FZ600 has a dead voltage regulator. It has a 7 wire RR on it and I think I've accidentally purchased a 5 wire unit. (1999 R1 unit) They looked exactly alike... duh...

1986 FZ600S acquired soon, looking for technical info

I have the same bike - currently trying to replace the R/R unit. The wiring harness shows 7 wires but I've accidentally purchased a 5 wire RR. :( Carbs weren't too technical - very dirty though. I've noticed these tend to get cruddy fast. Remember to remove and retain the little crow feet...

who else got stuck in a cop roadblock?

There are already drones overhead - have been for years. I think everybody here should brush up on the constitution. These stops are illegal and they pretty much count on you just rolling over. I also hear they have a sniper at 200 meters at every one of these checkpoints.... PAPERS PLEASE

Moto - great infographic there. I appreciate it. Seems like the sound goes away after a few minutes of running. Hopefully it will do the same this year. CBR - I grew up in the Zoo. Totally different town now. There are some cool cats there for sure. You'll have a blast in this warm weather...

Thanks for the reply! Kind of slow getting back here... I got the carbs back together finally and got her started before winter in Michigan. Then it was super nice for half the winter. I was kind of angry I missed all that 40 degree riding weather! ;) I don't know how to tell if this is a...

    Vacuum assisted pet****

THanks for the info folks! I'm used to the gravity feed. Now I'm expecting the o-ring to be f'ed up, because it would fill the float bowls and run for a while with the pet**** set to open and no vacuum. Yes, I tried the vacuum line both ways. Same result each time. I wonder if the whole thing...

    1986 FZ600 - Starter Re-engages? Whines..

Thanks Impact... I had planned on that part soon enough. ;) As I said - problem disappeared! Love that old Radian lump! Now I have to get it all apart again to fix the leak. HAHAHA! Also, the pet**** is plugged because it won't feed enough fuel to keep running for more than a few minutes. How...

    Vacuum assisted pet****

1986 FZ600. Can anybody give me the lowdown on this vacuum assisted pet****? The manual details how to take it off and clean it, but damn if I can find the place where it tells you how the thing works? I have anemic fuel flow - both with and without the vacuum hose attached. Possible crap...
