    Saddle bags and exhaust heat.

    I made a simple bracket to keep my bags off the pipes. I works great and probably cost me under $10. http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/54550-simple-diy-saddle-bag-bracket.html?highlight=DIY+saddlebag

    Next bike? What it would be?

    I seriously considered and FJR and the Kawasaki Concourse as well. I rode both at Bike Week. I felt instantly at home on the FJR. Nice bike. This BMW is my first non-Yamaha.

    Next bike? What it would be?

    I just purchased a used 2012 BMW R1200R. It has the upright riding position of the FZ6, but with more leg room. The boxer engine is 110 HP and has more torque. I can run 55 MPH in 4th gear comfortably and highway speeds in 5th. It doesn't even feel like it needs a sixth gear, although it...

    Thanks, and oh how right you are. Please excuse the non-recent purchase content of this post. I will get there. So.....I had to bag the trip to NC because of it was going to rain all week. I used to live in Arizona, so I booked a last minute flight to AZ with the idea of renting a bike...

    Went for a ride with no wind screen today...

    I put the Cee Bailey tall screen on mine and it works pretty darn good. I still get a blast to the helmet (I am 6-00), but it is about lower visor up and cleaner air. The short screen hit upper chest and up, and was turbulent. It was work to keep my head still at highway speeds, as you all...

    2015 BMW R1200RS Ride and Review

    Thanks for that. I saw one of these on the road here in Tampa yesterday. Very good looking bike and I have heard good things about the performance. I rented a 1200GS when I was in Arizona a couple weeks ago and put 800 miles on it over 3 days. The liquid-cooled boxer was a great. Loved the...

    AZ. Here I Come

    If you read the "new purchase" thread you will see I have been outfitting my FZ6 for touring (bags, ce bailey tall shield, Corbin seat). The plan was to take the time I have between jobs and head to NC to ride with a buddy. I had the bike loaded and ready to go when I learned it was supposed...

    ~~~$$$The Recent Purchase Thread$$$~~~
    OK, I am done for a looooong time. Corbin seat arrived. First 50 miles felt hard, slippery, oddly shaped. Had I not read numerous reviews, I would have been disappointed in my purchase. A little Lexol leather treatment took some of the slickness off and it is already conforming a little. I...
    Deals Gap August 3rd to 7th 2015.
    Have a great time. I will be heading to the Charlotte area to visit my riding buddy, then heading up to Asheville to visit my old bandmate the last week of April. Not sure of the details yet, but hope to make it to Deals Gap.
    2007 Yamaha FZ6 (533 miles)
    That beats the 2007 I bought with 700 miles on it about a year ago. Love it. It has run flawlessly and I just put new tires on it (due to age) and about 5,000 miles. Good luck with the sale. Someone will get a good bike.
    About to buy an fz6 HELP!
    I would definitely be willing to pay a few hundred bucks for a really clean bike that has been well cared for. Good luck making a decision!
    How much did you $spend on your fz6? $7200
    $3800 OTD for a 2007 with 700 miles. This was in 2013. Bike was showroom condition.
    Anyone ever regret or have doubt in their FZ6 purchase?
    I purchased a 2007 FZ6 about a year and a half ago. My riding experience was rather limited and spent solely on cruisers in the late 80s and 90s. If you are wanting to be a sit back "lazy" rider, a cruiser may be a better fit. I do not mean lazy in a bad way. There is certainly some merit in...
    As promised, new set of Michelin PR4s. These replace the factory treads that were on it. The bike is a 2007 that I bought last year with only 700 miles on it. I could only conclude they were factory originals. The tires only had 5,500 miles on them, but I replaced them due to age and because...
    2015 Daytona Bike Week. Day 2 (demo'd Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawi, Indian)
    Not this year. We rode back home to Tampa Bay Area yesterday. I thought the FJR was more of a sport bike and really great. I felt at home on it right away. The fJR is way better looking in my opinion as well. The concours just fit me better and I think it would suit my riding better. Even...
    2015 Daytona Bike Week. Day 2 (demo'd Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawi, Indian)
    Never thought to see if anyone from the forum would be in Daytona. I am new to the forum and do not get on it often. Looked at the first pic you took of the FJ09 and......there I am, in the background, with my wife. I am standing in the back in a green shirt and an orange design, checking my...
    Hello, My name is FLPicker, and I am an addict. Ok, perhaps I am just in purchase mode right now. The next step in touring set up - Ram Mount for the GPS. Puts the GPS nicely dead center over the tank bag. I ran my battery tender lead run up to the fairing and clipped it in the little...
    To Female Riders:
    It had been years...many years...since I had owned a motorcycle. Some friends bought bikes and I decided to get back into it. When I mentioned it to my wife she said, great I think that sounds like fun, maybe I should look into getting my license. The response I got from many of my friends...
    Cats can be that way, can't they? She is home with the "Cone of Shame" on. We are fortunate we were able to go the distance. I feel for people that have to make hard decisions due to circumstances and finances. Happy New Year. We now return you to our regularly scheduled thread. :thumbup:
