Wanting to get my girlfriend into bikes I went out and bought her this 07 YBR. Solid condition, light surface rust to be expected but full service history and plenty of parts replaced in april this year - the owner hadn't planned on selling until a week ago when he bought a Diverson (FZ6R) on impulse so it's not something that's been mistreated.
Took her out for a 'blast', a fist full of throttle as she smashed past 20mph in 3rd gear was exhilarating!

My secret agenda is to use the bike in the winter when the snow and sludge come in, the new bike is white and with a tail tidy acts are a sprinkler showering me and the back end with all the crap also it's too pretty to mistreat to the salt and such in the UK winters.

Her she is, throttle pinned going flat out at a staggering 60mph (headwind took the last 5 it can do).
Slipstreaming is a genuine process for any overtake and it's really fun using a vehicle to help slingshot you forward like a Moto3 racer!

We've got a little 07 YBR, for the Mrs on a CBT. Like you say, when it's on the verge of snowing, I take it to work. What do you find its like in the corners? I don't know if it's the seating position or aging tyres but the front end has no feel to it at all. It's gone out from under me before on a roundabout. Good news is, they crash really well and are super cheap to fix.

I found if you want to take a bend at 30+ you do it like your in speedway and have a foot on the road on the side your turning - the front tyre is the same width of my downhill mountain bike and the bakes not much more so you can't lean a whole lot but it does drop straight in on those bends. I do feel that if there is no traffic around I can't really hurt myself too much so might try to see if I can slide the back wheel out next time and see what happens!

Seems I am not the only with an YBR as a wife bike

Rides "funny". So light, weak, but for the city more than enough. Got it to about 110km/h indicated on a motorway today and almost scraped right footpeg on a 180degree curve going 80km/h before realising that pegs DO NOT fold on this thing :)

I used YBR 125 for 33.000 kms and 3.5 years. Actually I have had 2 different ybr's in past. it's so much fun for a little bike, comfy and solid construction for it's price. But too skinny. Anyways, congratz :)

is your ybr fuel injected? my first ybr has had a 22 mm mikuni carb (2009 version with rectangle headlight), second has had a mikuni 25 mm negative presssure smart carb (ybr 125 esd). Especially I was very pleased my second ybr, it was really economical and comfy.

the first one is blue (2009)
the second one is anthrachite (2012)

I'm led to believe that it is fuel injected being a 2007 but no idea what carb there is.
Like the idea of the engine bars, seems like a smart investment if I'm going to be using it on snow/ice later in the year!

You don't really need the crash bars. When I chucked ours down the road, the only bits to touch down were the very tip of the front mudguard, the brake lever, the back cover of the clocks (only bit that needed replacing) and the chrome exhaust cover. The engine is so thin it doesn't touch down.
