In the west country of the United kingdom there is a small town called Woooton Bassett.
Wootten Bassett is close to an air base called Lyneham, where fallen soldiers are re-patriated back into the UK. The Hearses bearing the soldiers have to pass through 'Bassett' and the towns people make a point of lining the streets to pay their respects as the cars pass.
The mother of one of the fallen is a biker, and she thought it would be a nice gesture, and a way of making money for charity, if she organised a bike run through the town as a sort of 'thank you' to the people for showing their respect.
She hoped to get a couple of hundred bikes.
They had to stop the sign up list at 10,000.
I was on the run today and all the way there were people, old & young clapping & waving flags.
With each biker paying £5 for a wristband to go on the run, and other money being made from T-shirts, patches & flags they hope to raise £100,000.

To those of you who are out there on active service,

YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!!
