I use one of these. The rubber end has worn off the screw clamp, which makes the measurement less than precise. I'm also not convinced that it's not damaging the chain, especially on the FZ6 where the slack setting really arches the chain through the clamp.

Value for money, I'd say it's expensive for what it is.
