Digital gauges look like the Matrix...???

Hey all!

My gauges/display/speedo/tach, whatever is showing up all glitched out. It's an LCD display and looks like what a broken arcade might look like. Hella distorted. The weird thing is - it will randomly kick in and work perfectly fine for a few seconds and then go back to crazy mode.

I've checked the fuses. I've checked the wiring (as best I could, the previous owner had a little rats nest going). I'm fairly confident neither of these are the issue.

05 Fz6, if that helps. Admittedly - I haven't tended the battery in a longgg while but everything else works fine. Should I just eBay some new gauges? I'd really like to know how fast I'm going.

What kind of "rats nest" (plz post a pic) and did it work before that? If its that bad, (the nest), it very possible the problem is inside/ from the nest.


If the harness was normal, it sounds like something internally failed or shorted inside the unit.

Can you get to the insides and check for any water intrusion / corrosion?
