Well, I'm finally getting what I want!
A nice, new(er) FZ6! I've been trolling the forums here, but didn't feel part of the family since I don't have a fizzer!

But with spring, came time to sell some stuff.
So I sold my 1983 Honda NightHawk 550 (CB550SC) - $750 (26k miles, decent shape, salvaged title)
Then I sold my 1998 Chevy cavalier, as I replaced it with a 2007 Mazda3 - ($750, 221k miles, ran like a champ but body was not great at all, salvaged title)
Then came time to sell my new baby... My 2002 SV650s, 25k miles, in great shape, clean title, so much FUN! - $2500

So this left me with $4k to play with... and then I started having fun!

I was shopping and shopping for different bikes, but I had one thing in mind. "Sport-Touring" The SV was too cramped for me, and I started hurting in my knees after about an hour of riding. The gas tank was too small, and my family is talking about doing a colorado trip this summer (From michigan).

So I test rode a Vstrom, as it had the same motor as the SV, and it was pretty good, until I test rode my friend's 2007 blue FZ6. :D

My mind was made up instantly, so I went to searchtempest.com immediately.

Long story short, I'm going this weekend to pick up what will hopefully (depending on how it is mechanically and visually in person, as pictures only tell so much...) my 2007 Blue FZ6 (completely stock) with 10k on the clock for just under $4 grand.

I. Am. So. Excited. :BLAA:

Now the part about the thread... anything I should look out for? Anything I should look to change right away?

I would change the oil and brake fluids, even if the previous owner says he changed them regularly. Check the tires psi and your ready to ride! :welcome:

Then FZ1 bars, nice levers, must have crash pads :), rear luggage and continue until you run out of money :)

Its a pretty solid bike, but inspect the frame. Some people they they are professional stunters, lar the bike down and sometimes the sliders dig in and rip a chunk out the frame.

Warning: Pic heavy!

Thanks tiger, will do! I've seen pictures, and can upload a few if you guys want to take a look. Let me just do some finagglin' a second...

This bike looks pretty dang good! We'll see when I get there... Apparently the guy traded it in for a V-Max? His loss is my gain!

There we go: Pics attached!

Definitely will do!

an i seeing things or is there a skuff/scrape on the bottom of the left side of the engine case?

I see something there, too. Something more for OP to check when he sees it in person.

Small change of plans... instead, it looks like im going to be going to Ohio today to pick up an 08 fz6 in black. 16k miles and looks PERFECT. I checked out the larger pictures and there are no suspect scratches at all. Gotta negotiate with him about the bags he might sell with it. ;)
