What do you guys think?

$10,000, 145whp, 460 lbs, good components.

Seems to be a lot better sorted than the FZ09.

It's definitely going to be added to the contenders for my next bike.

It's about $2,800 cheaper than a base S1000R, only makes about 5hp less, and doesn't really seem to be missing anything that I would desperately miss.

Suzuki GSX-S1000F VS Yamaha FZ1. Ummm choices choices.

Just by looking at the bikes I prefer the GSX-S but I am a yamaha fan... Hopefully the FZ1 doesn't get dropped and gets upgraded looks and performance soon !

Few components make it look like Z1000, but I like Suzuki for its power.
Z1000 - 125hp 12k USD.
and you get what you paid for, FZ09 is cheap, 7K'ish OTD, but on Suziki, for 500USD (for standard) and 1000$ (faired version), you get ABS too, which will not be available in FZ09 for next few years (available in FJ09, 2015/16, rear only, USA).
On the other hand, FZ09 produces only 115 horses, but has enough torque on A mode to **** your pants (if that was your first wheelie and don't respect the bike and is 849cc, which can be comapred to GSXR 750, 8kUSD, no ABS).
On a street, why do I need that much of power, when I can't/won't use anyway? On my FZ6, I always worry about a cop seenig me, when I hit 125mph+ and I do it only on interstate, once I'm done with mountain twisties riding with my buddies.

Well... if I were to choose, it would be really difficult, because I love Yamaha, but the looks of the Suzuki are awesome, but Yamaha as a little more hp... but I think my next motorcycle can be a Suzuki because I like the brand.

The problem with the FZ1 for me is that there's no naked option in the USA and the weight. It's nearly 40 lbs heavier than the Suzuki. At the same time, it makes less torque and HP than the Suzuki. The FZ1 seems like a good distance bike to me, but it doesn't really seem to compete with the Z1000 and GSX-S1000 in the handling department.

If you compare the Suzuki to the FZ09, there is the price point difference. However, and this is a big however, the FZ09 needs a lot of money dumped into it straight off the showroom floor. So in my head the two bikes are the same price. One I can buy and ride, the other I have to fiddle with. If there's one thing I've learned from owning the FZ6, I don't like fiddling with bikes.

My short-list for my next bike in the spring right now is:

1. Tuono V4R
2. S1000R
3. GSX-S1000
4. Z1000

I'm not really interest in the CB1000R or FZ1. They're already getting pretty long in the tooth and this is a bike I'll have to keep for a number of years.

Bike to keep for number of years, make my order in reverse,
FZ1(6)>Honda(5)>4>3>2>1
but styling Z1000>GSXR1000>BMW>Tuono>Yamaha>honda, YMMV

and I liked the fall color pic from Z1000, I have lots of trees in my office parking lot and I'm sure I can get a good shot, I'll wash and wax my bike and bring it over a weekend with my DSLR and take lots of pics.

It's funny, style is such a personal thing.

I really don't like much about the Aprilia except for the styling. That bike is 100% gorgeous, probably the best looking "naked" ever.
