made a wire rope theft deterent to the
right side of it and put a minny lock through the cable guide.
works great so far picked up a couple ka bands & cruisers were hiding about 3/4 miles away>need to straighten out the wires more orderly, just a test run, thanks all.

Pretty slick unfortunatly, if the Officer sets the radar to "stand by", its NOT putting out a signal to pick up.

As an FYI,

Should I see someone exceeding the limit, its flipped back on (within range) and I got ya before your unit goes off... The farther the offset between the target and the radar, the LOWER the target speed will read..

Radar enforcement, at least down here, is based on the officers observation and estimation of speed. He confirms his estimation with the radar display and higher doppler sound. The UTT is written on that. The Officer also needs to make sure the target is the correct vehicle. Ie; a motorcycle gong say 25 MPH faster than anyone else is easy to see. The radar and doppler sound will also jump up with a higher tone..

Not sure about Lazer, I don't believe they put a wide angle signal tp pick up but a thin beam that is aimed at a specific vehicle and registers back, again, way before you alarm goes off.

If the radar is just turned on, putting out a signal, yes your detector should work fine..

i set mine up a little different.

Hubby got a radar detector on his bike for our trip to Canada and back. It saved us a few times. We weren't going to much over the limit, but just enough to be a little nervous.

The Tribal Police really work it on the reservations. Gotta make money for the tribe.

On that trip, I was trying to catch my hubby on a straight section and was really hauling. I was just slowing down for a curve when around the corner comes a California High Patrol. He flashed his headlights at me. He knew I was going fast, but couldn't tell how fast and he didn't have radar on when he went by Hubby. It was my one free pass I guess. No seasonal driving award for me (yet).

I just got the smart radar to replace my x50. I have the same led unit but velcrod it below my tach. The radar unit I keep hidden in my tank bag. The smart version has an app so I can hear it with my sena. Id rather not broadcast im using it.
