Recomended First Mods?

I just bought a 2008 FZ6 and got some frame sliders for it and now am wondering what some good mods to do are, I would mostly like to know what performance mods you recomend, how much cash they will cost, and how much they improve your bike. Thanks :thumbup:

Are you gonna tour? If so, the seat and hard luggage (while expensive) are still the things I wish I'd done sooner. Though I haven't done the seat yet, actually... man I gotta fix that slab.

If not, then I think the default answer after sliders seems to be new exhaust cans and then pazzo levers. I don't fully get the love for $180 levers but people SWEAR by them, fanatically. I may do that just to see what the hype's about.

fz1 bars is one mod I like, different exhaust is pricey but awesome, and the springs can use a change..

I like the dual headlight mod it's cheap and easy plus you don't look like cyclops

You asked about performance mods.. one that comes to mind going one tooth down on the front sprocket. Some people go -1 , + 2 out back. You can get a full 520 conversion kit with gear ratio change for about $140 if you shop it around. Check out indysuperbikes.com

2. change your OEM bulbs to brighter ones and get bd_43's dual light mod.
3. louder pipes, but expensive
3a. replace your OEM horn to aftermarket like Fiamm or Stebel
4. Better GEAR, should be first on the list along with an increase in life insurance.

I got risers, throttlemeisters, better lighting, tank protector, and sliders. Want soft luggage (easy detach) and a better windshield. Lower cowl ?Pershaps a better seat and then mufflers. Not sure what else yet. Better tires once the old ones wear enough.

Yes I have a Cortech Jacket AJC Helmet and Gloves all I need are some better pants. I definatly agree with saftey first, thats also why my first bike that I had for the last 2 years was a Kawasaki Ninja 250. :thumbup:

1. Frame Sliders !!!!!

2. bd_43's dual light mod. - Anywhere from free to maybe $15 depending on what you have around the house. Worth it if for no other reason than you don't hear about your burnt out light. :thumbup:

3. 15T sprocket .. $30 - $40 - The best and cheapest performance mod for the FZ6 IMO.
