I recently had a nasty spill on my 09 Fz6 (nearly got hit by a guy going the wrong way at 75+) and fortunately the damage to my bier was fairly minor. One of the things that got damaged was the left front foot peg. It got completely snapped off and the bracket that holds it in got damaged as well. I've replaced the peg and I have the new bracket to replace the damaged one.

BUT, I'm having trouble removing the bracket to swap them out. The two large nuts (circled in blue) came off no problems. But I can't get the shift lever (red) to budge. I'm not the most mechanically inclined so I might be missing something very obvious.shiftlever.jpg

Thank you for any help or advice.

Here's the parts fisch for that area:

Yamaha Motorcycle Parts 2009 FZ6 - FZS6YB SHIFT SHAFT Diagram

That bolt simply screws in, no nut behind it, regular threads. Its possible someone loctited it in.

Some heat with a heat gun should break it loose used in that specific area, intense for maybe 15 seconds...

CC and it should come out. There are some washers there as well..

BTW, you know your peg "feeler" is gone.

I got it off. I ended up having beat the crap out of an Alan wrench with a rubber mallet to get it started. Thanks for the advice!

FWIW: factory install has blue loctite...

Grease shaft and washers with water proof grease when installing....
