i thought the r6s was a 2004-2005 r6? anyway i see the r6s going before the fz

It basically is an older body style R6 with some minor changes. The 05 R6, while it looks the same had some suspension differences, inverted forks etc.

We all know that the end comes to all good things. It's just a matter of time before they discontinue it or make changes that are bad. It never fails.

I think that if they are going to make any changes it would be to get rid of the half fairing on the fz6. Yamaha doesn't have a real "naked" bike since we have a bit of fairing up at the top. just my 2c
