Hi folks, about 450 kms in on a new 2009 fz6, and I am thinking the side stand spring should be a stronger. It stand doesn't sag or anything but its not really stiff either.
just wondering if the stand being down in the showroom has had a long term affect on the "springiness".
any thoughts???
thanks in advance

It just means the spring is well lubricated....if it's stiff, it needs a bit of grease....

thanks all for the responses: after my vtr which had quite a stiff spring and a few other bikes I've ridden, where the stand came up with a real thump, the fz6 spring is, how should I describe it?,..... "subtle" is about the best word I can think of.
cheers

I'm doing the right thing, not going over 8500,til its run in and I think thats impossible on a daily commute anyway.Still to get over about 5500, and doing that was lotsa fun, felt soooo good, so..... more surprises in store

Are you using the method of changing the revs all the time?

Yeah I am, even when just cruising at 60 ks,to and from work up to 6th, run for half a k then down to 5th for about the same then 4th then back up again.
trying to vary it as much as I can. Doing a 2 hour run from Melb to Lancefield with another newbie tomorrow, so will have the chance to get up a bit more speed and do the same thing. only 450 ks til 1st service
