Hi guys,

First post on here. I'm currently acquiring my second Fz6. The weird thing is that it's a 2007 reg but has a S1 cluster and I think a S1 swingarm but 4 pot brakes.... What's going on, AM i missing something? Was it an early model of an S2?

Cheers in advance!

Update:

I've done some digging and on the regi plate check website it said it's a FZ6 SA ABS but the front brake calipers don't seem to have the usual features of an ABS system. What does the SA stand for?

Cheers!

What country are you in? There have been different models depending on the location of the original import.

Is the coolant expansion reservoir behind the downpipes or under the fuel tank?

Also do you have a full history of the bike? Maybe a previous owner did some modifications.

I'm based in UK (Scotland). It has a standard regi plate on it. I don't physically have the bike.

Uuu, good question. I will have to check when I get it. Delivery is 7-14 days so unfortunately no enjoyment from riding until then.

I've got part history. 2 previous owners.

I'm confused about the frame being silver, it's not common with S2. They are mostly black! Although I don't mind the silver arrow look.

Mostly I want to know if I have an S2 with ABS before I slam the front brake and realise I don't!😅

I've heard of people replacing the twin pot sliding brake calipers with the S2 four pot version, so maybe it's just a mod for better braking.

As regards the ABS, have a look at the right hand side of the front wheel hub. If there's a black disc with a wire coming out of it, then it's got ABS.

You have an S1 bike, period...

The welded passenger peg "extension" to the frame is the
first big give away.

Number two is the fairing (which is different from the S2.

Number three, your gauge cluster.

Number four, that swingarm is an S1 part.

Now, some countries do not use the actual BUILD DATE (as the year machine),
but when it was sold or some other criteria.

As for the 4 pot front calipers, that IS an S2 part... Someone likely changed that out
over the years..

Congrates on the new toy!
