Welcome m8,hope you find the forum as helpful as i have, possibly THE best model specific bike forum ive found on the net, nice bikes you have there....
Theres a couple other threads here m8 debating the airbox mod with varied opinions,my opinion is leave your airbox standard,Yamaha like all manufacturers know what works best in there machines and the chances of anyone improving it are slim, just my opinion tho.
Reason you find it strange is due to them being totally different machines, yea you will adjust to the Fazer,i had the opposite problem,i came off a ZZR1100 onto the Fazer and found it very light and easy to throw about, other benifits you will have is the extra cc,s mean that distance touring is...
Seen this question loads over the years,25 yr ago it was the norm for guys to put aftermarket exhausts etc on their riides, usually that in turn meant upjetting carbs, and change the stock airbox to a set of K&N.s,9 times out of 10 unless it was professionally set up problems arose, usually always...
Best wishes to your wife m8,under these circumstances mistakes can be unavoidable,as mentioned there are epoxies etc that are 100% fuel proof, the key to it is ensuring the repair area is spotless and clean and that you allow adequate curing times before exposing it to the fuel,

You've answered your own question m8,ie-the obvious, since ive been into bigger bikes ive always shortened the service intervals,ie if Yamaha state(as in our case)oil change every 4k miles,i'll change it every 2-2.5k,might seem extra expense but trust me its well worth it,also use only good...
If you have downloaded the service manual go to section 8-61,it shows the relay (figure 11)under the seat or sidepanel,a rough test is tap the relay with a screwdriver handle when the hazars/indicators are in the"on"position, this often unsticks the bi-metallic strip temporarily making it...
Bit of a rant......
We all pay our road tax
We see our government pay millions on **** TV adverts..."think bike"etc etc...
Wouldnt said government be better using the cash to improve our roads???
Ok,B-roads etc we expect ruts, pot holes and the like and we all as bikers should be aware and...
