    How my incident happened

Moe, I'm glad to hear you say that.... From personal experience, I can tell you that one part of why this happened has to do with your motorcycle's location with respect to the truck you were following. You were following too close to the truck, in my humble opinion. I completely agree...

Speedometer off, but odometer is exactly right (calculations included)! Speedohealer?!

Re: Speedometer wrong, odometer is spot on (calculations included)! Speedohealer dilemma.. The OEM almost certainly intended to have the error between the speedometer and the odometer. Japanese bikes have had speedometer error for decades. Just because it's all digital now instead of...

    Iphone power

I'd splice into the low beam circuit for the power. That way, the circuit is only on after the engine starts.

What annoys you about your FZ6?

My complaints with the FZ6: 1) The fairing makes far too much turbulence. 2) The OEM seat foam dies in about 3 years/20K miles. That starts the underseat exhaust cooking your arse.. 3) There is not enough alternator to power accessories. 4) The OEM suspension components are marginal. Too...

    Anyone use "top-load" side cases?!

If you have to have side load cases, why doesn't anyone build a hinged frame for the things? You could then load them like they were laying flat, and then lock them in place once you've closed the lid....

    That'll buff out!

I heard something hit the camera guy's bike......

WOT 1st into 2nd, clutch slipping or something else?

Just for sh*ts and giggles, pull the K&N out, then take the bike around the block and whack the throttle open. See if the hesitation goes away. If this started right after you installed the filter, changed the oil and filter, and did some other maintenance, I would be suspicious of the work...

WOT 1st into 2nd, clutch slipping or something else?

This sounds more like you are hitting the rev limiter....

WOT 1st into 2nd, clutch slipping or something else?

If the clutch is slipping, it will become more noticeable in higher gears. Rather than rapping it out in first and feeling something on the shift to second, try riding the bike normally, up to around 25-30 MPH, and then shift it into 3rd, or 4th. With the bike in 'too high' a gear, go to...

    gas tank leak

Any sort of sealant you apply is only going to be as good as the prep work before using it. If you drained the tank, and flushed the inside and outside with something to remove ALL the gasoline from the metal before you JB'd it, it might last for quite a while before leaking. Maybe not. Depends...

Share - wear pattern on my chain pic

Re: HOW TO STRING ALIGN YOUR REAR WHEEL!! It may be worth mentioning that worn swing arm bushings would also cause slight misalignment....

    Your Thoughts on my Story?

If you are under ~25, I'd say a stint in the military would give you many of the things you are seeking. Friends. Spare time. Skills you M-A-Y use later in life. Money for further education, if you elect to pursue that option. Training that WILL serve you later in life... self discipline...

Lots of twisties corrected the odd tire pattern

<I'd been doing some commuting which offered few corners at speed so I guess that's how it got that way. But I still don't see why why its wearing making a razor pattern on one side in the first place.> The left side of the lane is higher than the right. The crown in the road to drain off rain...

    Clicking

This is a classic example of a low battery. Not enough juice in there, to turn the starter motor. The solenoid is repeatedly trying to engage the starter motor. Whenever the motor tries to move it sucks up ALL of the available electricity. You should still have enough energy in the battery...

Injury: done riding for the year :(

Well, I have to say getting attacked by your own luggage is a unique way to end a riding season. :) Glad that's 'all' it was. So many times we end up reading these sorts of posts and it's so much worse....

    Navy tops all time record!

I haven't kept abreast of optempo since I retired. I knew it had to be bad, as the fleet was constantly shrinking from when I joined. I was mortified to hear we're down to less than 200 ships. AND we're actively fighting 2 wars, and whatever humanitarian missions someone wants to toss in for...

    fork springs, progressive or not

Get single rate springs appropriate to your weight. The OEM progressives are too soft in the soft part, so you lose a LOT of suspension travel without having any real control of the front end. With single rates, you will have almost the entire fork's travel available to suck up bumps, instead...

Problem with starting the engine after bike assembling

I would re-check the fuel line connections, to ensure they had been applied to the correct ports on the fuel tank. Did you take the pump out of the tank?
