so the first mods happened today, I put on my HVMP 170z bar ends that had been on the FZ6. I know that there wasn't any apparent buzz through the bars but I like the look of the heavy stainless steel ends. The second mod was Sharkskin grips, I have been using them for years, so that was a given!

I'd be checking the sprockets and chain- sounds like some bound up links and maybe a badly worn front sprocket, a 2007 could likely have done 40,000 kms. My '09 got to ~ 50K and the chain had a few bound links- didnt create vibrations but not ideal.

I keep tossing up wether to go to an XSR 900 or stick with the FZ. I like the idea of extra low torque, ABS and just a new bike. But will I miss the FZ6? The weight and ergs are quite similar but the XSR is a wild little beast by all accounts- I've been tooing and froing for about 3 years now!

I put a stebel airhorn on a few years ago- it is duo (hi/lo) s o with the stock as well i have a tri tone and that really gets attention. My son reckons it sounds like a train coming you might want to look at putting in a relay in so any extra current draw doesn't burn out your horn button
