Thanks for the codes I went over the service manual already.. I too have the feeling that it is very unlikely that the ECU is malfunctioning. If it really had a malfunction it wouldn't work for a week and then pop up the error again.
Bike was outside (covered) while it was snowing for a few days.
I kept it clear of snow though. After 3 days when the snow stopped I went outside and gave it a few minutes to warm up (had the engine running for a few mins)
After 5 days when ice was gone, I drove to the office with the bike
when...
Hi guys
I'll try to make it short - I got a fault code 33 on my hud and my mechanic said that I need to replace the ECU.
Either way:
I ordered a used set (ECU, Ignition switch, fuel tank hatch, seat lock mechanism, 1 black key and 1 master (RED) key) for my bike.
Question is: Will I be able...
I asked the mechanic if it's possible there's a leak in the system (i.e when the bike is not running, something is draining the battery) and he said no
Anyhow the battery is still on warranty so hopefully they'll replace it free of charge...
I guess this is the best option I currently have...
The mechanic over the garage tested the charging system several times and he said it's perfectly fine, he also checked the electrical coils and everything looks fine!
No other power consumers whatsoever! no alarm, no gps, nothing! :-)
As I mentioned before: charging is fine! when after the battery drained out completely, a 60 mile trip recharges it just fine (starter sounds healthy and spins fast)
Hi!
FZ6 2005, battery rather new. I drive DAILY from home to work, and about two days a week out of town, about 60 miles each day.
I'm on a vicious cycle: each tuesday, before I go out of town, the battery appears to be almost DEAD. Starter spins slowly, bike refuses to start, and...

Can you upload a picture?
I've been using the Givi T439N tailbag for a while now. it's EXCELLENT.
If I need more room, I just unzip it and it expands! :D
lol funny thing, I ran into this thread by mistake, but I'm struggling with the same problem EVERY DAY!
"THIS TIME IM GONNA MAKE IT, NO CLUNK THIS TIME!"
lol no matter what I do, nothing helps
and it's not a CLUNK, it's a fscking BANG sometimes lol, I hate it, having GS500 as my last bike...
Well Open circuit in wiring harness means you might have a short circuit in your wiring harness. the wiring harness is just a band of a certain number of wires in your motorcycle. it might have something to do with the harness that connects to the ECU which is the Engine control unit.
good luck!

this one suits the 2005 engine
have fun!
edit: this is the FULL manual
Hey guys
I've got this new alarm installed a week ago and (most probably) it killed my battery after 2 days.
I've checked the amperage consumption when the alarm is in ARMED mode
and it turned out to be approx 7.2 miliamper on the multimeter
Is it high? doing a quick calculation yields...
Yep visited the garage today charged the battery for about 1.5 hours (which is NOTHING) and it revived everything, works well, went for a 60km ride to pump some more juice to the battery
everything works well now.
question is: should I try to plug the alarm again? :]
Thats probably the problem. I installed a new alarm 2 days ago, it must be it.
I've noticed that when I move the switch to ON position and then press the right brake lever, the light in the gauges gets reallyy dimmed like there's no power.
Well I doubt something came unplugged - I only worked on the front lights wiring, I didn't even pull anything I just put on some new isolairband.. nothing more!
hola
I have an annoying problem with my 2005 fazer600
I decided to put some new isolairband around the front lights wires since they were all dirty and old.
After doing so (took me about 20 minutes, nothing major), I wanted to check that everything works well. put the key in the switch...
