I just wanted to drop a quick thread to tell people about how awesome the people at Pro-Bolt (Redline) Australia are, and what a great product they supply.
I ordered a few sets for my bike (fairing set, tank, clutch adj etc) and changed my mind about colour after having ordered. I rang them...
Ive held off voting on this thread for a long time, but having just traded my 2006 FZ6 for a 1999 Triumph Sprint ST it has made me realise it is easy to have rose coloured glasses on when you are satisfied with your ride.
OK, the thing is, I don't even think the Sprint is the better bike. I...
Some may consider this a downgrade, but I swapped my 2006 FZ6 for a 1999 Triumph Sprint ST with full set of Givi's, same amount of K's, straight trade, and I'm very happy.
The FZ6 has very little "tourer" in it (for those who actually tour, rather than go on long day rides), but the Sprint...
Nice choice! Ive always liked the Blackbirds as even though they look large-ish, they still look sporty and awesome! Personally i like the blue, and was one sleep away from buying one at one stage, but that's another story. And Ive seen Blackbirds do some of the best, longest, non-stop...
Re-ran cables, all good. It's amazing how much easier it is 2nd time around.
Something else I have now learnt with the new brake lines, and that is how spongy the front shocks are. It's quite amazing how much more it will dive in the front with better brakes, so i guess I have a new fluid...
Just to elt you know, there was one small issue with the cheaper Chinese copies, and that is that the brass bush does not fit correctly, so this si what I did.
I went to my local nuts and bolts shop, then to the local metal fabricators etc trying to find someone who could either sell me a...
OK, I screwed the pooch with running the fronts the way I have. While it looks good, the problem is when I have the wheel turned to put the key into "lock" position, the lines are up against the frame neck. So, i will have to re-run them, which of course means re-bleed them. Oh well, should...
[/IMG]Ive installed the new lines, bled them out etc. Did a bit of a test run, feel ok, taking her out for a good ride today with some mates.
Anyway, the front feels so much more powerful! Before, when the brake was fully on, there was still nearly an inch of "squeeze", whereas now, once...
Its my name, shortened.
My nickname on football forums is "Whiz", but if I came on here and called my self that I don't think I would have been very widely accepted.
For what it's worth I just did an oil change yesterday with Motul semi-synth 10W-50 5100, as well as Yammie oil filter, and it's still running. I have 47000k's on the clock btw. It looked pretty good going in.
OK, part 1 complete. Did some "emergency" braking today with the original lines.
Firstly, I've been thinking about the difference I can expect from new brake lines, and what I did today confirmed it. This is simply that regardless of what sort of brakes I have, once I have them fully...
I chose key. I would say I use that more often than not when I am actually turning the bike off for a while in normal operation. And I wanted to see how the poll was going.
Man, that ceramic coating is da bomb!
The chrome look and the black are both awesome, but I like the black on a black engine.
Is it very X'y to have done?
My tin of spray paint cost A$18.99, so it was easily justifiable.
btw, that's a trick looking bike Kamloops. I...
I was planning on doing this today, and was up really early I was so excited, but unfortunately it's been pissing down all day. While it's a perfect day for changing over the lines, it's the wrong day to be practicing emergency braking, so I'll have to wait until the weekend now to give it a...
Sorry to hear it mate, but sounds like you had 15 good years, so that's to be cherished, not commiserated. All the best for now, and hope you find another furry mate when the time is right .
