This happened in Southie. Broke the steering column lock and wheeled it away. I guess one down the street got taken a week or two ago as well. I've got a big ass chain that I used to use, probably going to bring that back into play when I get another.

I honestly get too mad even typing about it, so I'm just gonna leave a bunch of pictures here as a memorial & say that there is a special place in Hell for bike thieves.

Haha I'm honest to a fault. Thanks for the offers to help...I just dropped it off at the local shop though. I live in Boston & was keeping it up in NH for the winter so it broke up there. Didn't have time to keep going back and forth working on it & don't have a driveway/garage down here.

Yeah insurance is a pain, but we get it pretty good with our bikes compared to the SSs. You going comprehensive? Ppl don't really know what ours are so they don't steal them so much, but I know a few ppl who've had their bikes stolen around here so I just get it all.

I'm a lot dumber than I'd like to admit. I did have a torque wrench, but I couldn't resist tightening just a little bit more "just in case". I've since learned that my father has been struggling with this condition throughout his life. Hoping I'm a slightly faster learner.

You're also gonna have the yearly excise tax to deal with. Should only be like $20-30 though...

Looks like the pic is working now? Anyway- the new sump was $195 & the shop is saying 3-4 hrs labor to change. Sucks that the headers have to come off to do it. Expensive ****in lesson learnt. At least the weather has sucked!

Does anybody else ride without one (excluding the naked guys)? Took mine off to get in a parking garage when it was in the bed of my truck, never ended up putting it back on. Looks better I think, plus it feels like I'm going even faster! :rockon:

Thanks for all the replies! I went out on my lunch break to take a look again. It's back to normal?! Guess the lube on the lever itself was enough. Just needed a bit of time to work through whatever grime was holding it up. Definitely marking this thread for future reference though. :rockon:
