I dropped mine once, but had frame sliders on it. It rashed my mole, mirror, bar end, lever, and frame sliders of course. It basically slid down hill on gravel after we fell over. No paint damage.

We put Pazzo levers on it, it helped a little. I hear it's a pita to adjust and you run a good chance of screwing it up. I've been working on my strength, but it's still tough in traffic. I work in physical therapy and do a lot of massage so my hands are already pretty strong.
So, I'm trading in my VFR for a FZ1. :-) so excited! Looks like the FZ6 just more power. Definitely more comfortable riding position and lighter than the VFR, and no hydraulic clutch. :-)
So, I've put 2200 miles on the VFR now. Biggest gripe..... hydraulic clutch. It's way to stiff, kills my hand, especially if I'm caught in stop and go traffic. I miss my FZ6. :-/
And this is why I hate squirrels.............
I never dreamed that slowly cruising on my motorcycle through a residential neighborhood could be so incredibly dangerous! Little did I suspect. I was on Brice Street - a very nice neighborhood with perfect lawns and slow traffic. As I passed an...
I love it! It's a bit heavier, but handles very well. I'm also sitting more forward, but it's still comfortable. I took it to Arkansas memorial day weekend and came back without chicken strips. :-) My hubby has a matching one and he likes his too. He has had several VFRs in the past though...
I just thought I would let you guys know that I sold my FZ6. The lady I sold it to is a very happy woman. Her husband bought it for her to learn on for her 60th birthday. At least I will still get to see it a couple times a year when we go play in Arkansas. I wanted a little bigger bike and...
SOLD
FZ6 in great condition, 26,000 miles (approx). All pink can be removed easily if you choose.
What has been done: Complete suspension upgrades that include front forks rebuild with Racetech 1.0 springs and emulators, Slingshot Racing adjustable preload caps, Penske 8900 shock, and the bike...
Sounds like head bearings. We just replaced mine. Put it on the center stand, put a jack under the headers, lift the front wheel about an inch off off the ground, then grab both front forks and move front to back. You will feel it. Just replaced mine toward end of season last year.
Ok, well, I opted for the Shoei RF1200. Yesterday was the first time to wear it and it was very windy. I have a 40 minute commute to work one way. It was much quieter, handled the wind much better, and was very comfortable (although it needs some breaking in for sure). I did not use the...
