The speedo bracket was heavily modified. First, I cut it off of the steel tubing assembly that held on the original fairing and headlights, thereby making it futile to sell that part -- you CAN make your own and that would allow you to sell it... I had already cut mine for another reason so...

Click on the 2nd and 4th pictures to show them fullsize. The GSXR 1000 headlight that I used ('03-'04 I think) has two mounting posts that accept screws from the FZ6...
Awesome, beautiful bike... ugly color. I was looking for one of these before I decided on the Fiz. Awesome torque, wonderful machine... it's a shame they quit making them.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the TPS would have anything to do with the idle. There should be something like an idle air control valve, maybe, that adjusts idle speed electronically through the ECU. Post back if the new air filter fixes it.
I only have experience with the stock grips but I've taken mine off many times with water and then reseated them with water. It took a couple of hours to completely dry because, obviously, there is no air circulation. They stuck every time though. You might recheck to make sure the fit is...
It may be better to leave it alone. But if you just can't stand it, you can use the touch-up that colorite has and it could look good enough to where it no longer draws your attention to that spot. Only apply the base and color to the scratched portion. You will have to clear-coat it though...
I would actually rather convertibars or similar if I had $300 to spend, that way I could mount them under the triple and have a more aggressive ride position while not hitting the gas tank with my thumbs.
I have driven fully faired, half faired, and headlight only bikes and I can tell you with certainty, unless you do 90% interstate driving, naked is the way to go. It's what riding a motorcycle is supposed to feel like and what a motorcycle is supposed to look like. I remember something I read...
