Definately wouldn't work. The inner workings on the R6s fork bolts to the bottom of the fork. There is a compression adjuster on the R6s fork that the FZ6 fork doesn't have. There are probably about 3 or 4 more reasons that it wouldn't work.

Yep............................. I used the wire from my headlight mod which is tagged at the high/low beam switch. This is the same wire as BD43 is using, except it only takes 20 mins to do.

The wiring really is not as bad as it looks. Just high beam, low beam, l&r signals and grounds. Come to think of it, I did spend quite a bit of time on the loom. Mainly pulling it apart and making all the wires the right length so it would look nice.

It shakes a little over bumps, but you can only tell if you're watching the light on roadsigns. No vibrations or wind problems.

Posting these pics up for someone to see details on the bracket. I removed some of the smaller gauge metal that is intended to hold wiring etc. IMHO you don't need any of the smaller stuff on the FZ6. Just the frame around the outside.

I was looking back through this and have to say that you do need the axle shims. If you don't use them, your forks will not be parallel with each other. This will cause premature wear and improper opperation. The reason for the shims is that the fork mounts in the tripple on the FZ are...

Check the fuel tank drain hoses that are routed near the exhaust above the hugger. That's the problem I had. Smelled like burning oil every time I stopped the bike.

Maxima Chain Wax. Never had a drop of it fling off. I always let it dry over night, though.

Thanks. Yeah, the temp and elevation must be the big factor. I just figured out our track is at about 1400ft. Traction hasn't been a factor.

So this would hold the valve stem open all the time? Not sure I would really trust that.

Thanks for the input. I am working on body filler right now but the shape can be changed at any time before paint. I still have some paint left from the seat cowl so probably will go that route.

OK, here's the shape I ended up with. Threw some black paint on there to get an idea of how it will look. Should I paint it matte black or do carbon fiber on it?
