Need Help US Supplier of Euro model FZ6N clutch cable?

$30 from Europe and $20 from China. Some of the EU bike parts shops I saw online wanted $40-60 plus $75 shipping...

Need Help US Supplier of Euro model FZ6N clutch cable?

Yeah, makes sense. I think he did it because he put the FZ1 bar on it. Not sure exactly. For now I have two coming in, but who knows when I'll get them. I think I'll just leave it like that for now.

Need Help US Supplier of Euro model FZ6N clutch cable?

Anyone have any US source of the FZ6N euro model clutch cable? My clutch cable broke while riding today and the guy I bought it from converted it using parts from a euro model FZ6N, and it looks like and he confirmed that it uses a different clutch cable. My local Yamaha dealer says they can't...

Need Help Bike got knocked over. Knocking sound when I roll off throttle.

Oddly enough down in the financial district you can still find a few spots. Right outside 180 maiden lane there is an alley that's perfect for parking and no one bothers you. Checked the sprocket and alignment. All good. It's only when the bike is in gear, which is why I Don't think it would...

Need Help Bike got knocked over. Knocking sound when I roll off throttle.

I'll check them all. Hopefully it's none of them. The motorcycle group parking spots are gone. Replaced by Citibike stations and the city has started towing illegally parked motorcycles regularly, even before ticketing them. The block I park on has maybe 30 bikes parked on it every day.

Need Help Bike got knocked over. Knocking sound when I roll off throttle.

So I parked where I always do for work in Hells Kitchen, and today my bike got knocked down for the second time in four months. Mostly fine, right side peg broke off, front right indicator is showing signs of gremlins which I'm hoping is just a loose bulb. FYI, on an 08, you can take the...

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

Thanks for the help everyone. About to go for a test ride. I didn't ping it down yet since it's my only vehicle and I have a new front sprocket coming this weekend. Once I get that I'll swap it out and then ping it on. It's got loctite on it for now. The thread pitch is 1.5 btw. I bought a...

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

Definitely will post back. I think I will become a regular here. Speaking of which, is there an app that you guys use to view? I wish I did my due diligence when I bought it and went over everything, but it was February in NY and then I didn't think to check it later.

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

We'll see how much I can clean it up. That would suck if I needed a new shaft. I'm gonna clean it up with a wirebrush. Where the pitting is luckily isn't where the nut bites.

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

Yep. I got suspicious initially because someone left an ad for a motorcycle tow / transport company on the bike the same day... Hopefully I can clean up the threads to get the replacement nut on there (whenever it gets to me). I ordered one from Partszilla since my local Yamaha dealer said...

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

Here's a picture of the output shaft. Looks like I'll need a new sprocket pretty soon as well judging by the gaps in the internal splines. Hopefully most of that missing material is from the sprocket and not the shaft.

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

Thread file is a good idea. I'll have to see if I can find one somewhere. Thanks. You'd use red locktite instead of blue? I'd worry about getting red back off if I need to change the sprocket in the future.

Need Help Front Sprocket nut thread size?

Does anyone know the thread size for the front sprocket retaining nut on an 08 FZ6? It would be the threads on #16 / #35 on this parts diagram. The nut on mine decided to abandon ship (and luckily the sprocket didn't walk off until after I crossed the bridge from Manhattan and not while I was...
