update - i took it off and it will only measure as high as 2.51kohms , should be at least 3.5. took it to my local dealer , that i've bought a lot of bikes and parts from ( just not this one - bought this one @ 2 hrs away). said the part would be $198.00 but the srevice mgr. is going to call...
thks for the responses so far. throttle cable play was the 1st thing i checked. i do all mt own service. the problem has gotten worse as the miles have added up, just like my 04 did. i'm wondering if it is an early 08 production that could be considered an 07 as far as tps replacement would go...
had an 04 up to 23,000 miles after the tps fix at 7,000 miles the bike ran awsome. liked it so much i sold it and bought an 08. i now only have 3,000 miles on it but continue to feel as though there is a similar tps problem. 40% of the time there is a hesitation on throttle response which gets...
hey Steve. Elisha and I would probably up for getting up there wed. after work and staying till Sun. mid-day. I'll keep checking the post as you firm up the days. Scott
good thought townsends. the dealer (motorcycle lot) that i bought it from said that they had bought from another dealer in a group buy. it had already been prepped ( gased up) when they pulled it off the floor. i agree injection will not be prone to a lot of sitting up issues that you get with...
had an 04 and sold with 23,000 miles. went through having the tps swapped under warrenty. sold it and bought an 08 that was still new at a dealer @ 3hr. drive away.
I've only got 1,300 miles on it so far. since new if your'e completly off the throttle and pick it back up @ 50 or 60% of the time...
a big thanks to Ant and Steve for the organization and food prep. the simple getting up in the morning and having a cup of coffee or a bowl of cereal at your finger tips make the day !
yeah defy we made it - actually heading back home right now. stayed up at the gap area late 2 11pm. all together i think there were a few more bikes than last year, plus several more we saw in the gap area that don't get on the board. instead of trying to run such a big group folks just broke up...
thanks ant - the ride down 28 is a great one, but i also reccomend getting down into the north ga. area. two, wolfpen gap, blood mt. , etc.. it's a long ride with a group but with a spirited group and straight riding it can be done. that's the route that jim went last year. or a different route...
Hey guys, old friends and possibly new ones. still here just had a lot going on lately and haven't been online. probably will have been up a few times before june but would love to come up and ride with ya'll. would be either just myself and possibly mrs. tour guide if she could get off work...
stomp grip on the sides of the tank. i cleaned the surface well and they started coming off @ 6 months later. they didn't leave any marks and i shouldv'e called the company but i said the heck with it.
with throttle miesters already on the bike i installed some heated grips. the kind you...
live like us older folks did in the past when we were starting out. no cell phones, no internet, no wally world for impulse buying, no eating out, and no cable tv. sounds like a rough life but thats one reason people think the cost of living is so much higher now, those thing didn't exist years...
yeah i've run the 17 for @ 10,000 miles. i prefer it cause it drops you back @ 300 rpm ( i think ). and yeah it makes the speedo closer to correct. i just ordered mine from a local dealer. the stocker has the rubber insert which makes it a little quiter. the replacement will be solid and you...
yeah defy - gotta keep momma happy. actually she's getting old(er) and that'll be the the only way i can get a little evening action after riding all day in the twisties ! my nephew is wanting mine and will give me 4,500 for it with some accs. i'm sitting on 20,000 miles. so i figuered i could...
