2008 fz6 engine cover replacement. As easy as it looks?

I dropped my 2008 fz6. Unfortunatley my engine cover went from being completley black to silver upon droping the bike. I noticed the engine cover is all of $100 new. I am not mechanically inclined at all! Is replacing the engine cover as easy at looks? "To me all it looks like is a couple of twists with an allen wrench and shabang. But i figured I would get a second opinion.

Just get some sand paper and black spray paint for 20$ you can do it 10 times

That would be great for a quick fix but im more or less worried about the resale value.

You are referring to the stator cover, i assume? It is $70 + shipping.

But when you pull the cover (slowly), you'll see there is a piece attached to the underside.
It is held in with torx head screws, which have threadlock on them. Sears has the torx socket for $7
There is a whole topic on it somewhere (search for stator cover).

do the swap before you sell and your not going to get your money back as you add miles you loose$$ also the part will not increase value you probably would save money just painting it

As others have said, removing the cover from the bike is fairly simple. However, Removal of the stator from the inside of the cover can be tricky if you do not have the right tools.
